Destiny 2 “Battle Stations” Drum Cover Gets Heavy, Listen Here

Drummer Andrew Fleming is back with his latest video game drum cover. Fleming, who performed on Islander’s summer tour with Korn, Stone Sour, and Skillet recently, rips the Destiny 2 song “Battle Stations” in the new video.

If this video looks a little different than Fleming’s past work–which has included multiple Destiny 1 songs, Pokemon Green/Blue, and Sonic’s Green Hill Zone–there is a good reason. Fleming recruited a new producer, Mason Bayne, for this newest video. Fleming wrote and performed the music, while Bayne recorded and mixed the audio, and also filmed and edited the video. Some of my favourite bits are the open high-hat sequences, along with the fills (1:24 stands out), as well as all the double bass, of course.

If you want to see Fleming make more videos you can support his Patreon or buy merch here. You can check out all of Fleming’s videos on his AF Drums YouTube page.

In other news about Destiny 2, the game comes to PC on October 24. You can see the final minimum and recommended requirements here, along with the exact unlock times. Additionally, players looking for a new challenge are in luck, as Destiny 2’s Leviathan raid is adding an ultra-difficult Prestige mode this week, following a delay.

Nintendo Switch EShop Update Adds A Nice New Feature

The Nintendo Switch eShop store has been updated with a nice new feature. The store was refreshed today to include a section that shows all the games currently on sale.

Nintendo Everything spotted this, and we’ve since checked in with the US and Australian store pages to find that the “Games On Sale” tab is there–though it is desolate right now. On the US eShop, two titles are listed: The Bridge and Infinite MiniGolf. The Australian eShop page, meanwhile, has those games and one more: Unbox – Newbie’s Adventure. The Switch eShop overall has a smaller number of games than the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store, so it is no surprise that the “Games On Sale” page would feature a relatively low number of titles. It will surely fill out in time.

The Xbox and PlayStation digital stores also let you filter by games that are on sale, as do PC digital storefronts such as Steam and Origin, among others. The Switch’s new “Games On Sale” tab adds to the existing ones such as “Recent Releases,” “Best Sellers,” “Coming Soon,” and “Enter Code.”

The Nintendo Switch’s online features are currently free, but at some point in 2018, Nintendo will start to change a fee for online multiplayer and more. This will start at $4/month, scaling to $20/year for a year-long membership. By comparison, Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus cost $60/year.

What other new features would you like to see come to the Switch’s eShop? Let us know in the comments below!

Fear the Walking Dead: Season 3 Finale Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

“What a perverse family you have, Alicia from Los Angeles.”

Fear the Walking Dead, a spinoff series that’s now operating under the specter of “this will all somehow crossover with Walking Dead,” went big with its double-episode Season 3 finale, circling the entire seasonal story back to the dam – for better or worse.

Firstly, the idea of having things tie back to the dam, Daniel, and the idea that a landmark so important and valuable would always bring trouble, was a great idea. As we’ve seen on both Dead shows, the solution to our heroes’ woes is rarely “Well, if we can just find a place like X, Y, or Z, we’ve got it made.” Having a secured town, camp, or base makes you a target in the zompocalypse. The dam adds an interesting element to the mix in the sense that it comes with a precious natural resource that everyone needs. Running the dam comes with an enormous amount of power over others.

Halo 5 Raising Money With DLC For Natural Disaster Support

Bethesda isn’t the only big-name publisher raising money to support the recent terrible natural disasters around the world. Microsoft has announced a new charitable campaign through Halo 5 where players can buy a DLC pack and see the proceeds to go the charity GlobalGiving, which helps nonprofit groups get the funding and support they need to do their work.

Microsoft has released the Relief & Recovery Req Pack in Halo 5 for this campaign. It includes five permanent Reqs that are designated ultra or better rarity. The pack also comes with 10 rare or better boost cards. The DLC is available until October 23 through Halo 5’s in-game Req story or on the Xbox Live web store right here for $10.

“Like countless others, many of us here at 343 have been impacted in a variety of ways by the seemingly unending string of challenges reality has thrown humanity’s way recently,” 343 said. “From the Gulf Coast to Puerto Rico, from hurricanes to earthquakes to wildfires, there’s been no shortage of unbelievable hardship suffered by folks from all walks. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the Halo community though, it’s that when the hour seems darkest, help is always on the way. .

“And to any community members directly affected by these recent disasters, know that we’re rooting for you every step of the way. You’ve got Spartans on the ground, and we’re not going anywhere…”

The deadly wildfires in Northern California have been raging for days. The fires recently claimed the home of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz. The fires have killed at least 40 people and wrecked at least 5,700 homes, according to GameSpot sister site CBS News.

Top 10 Movies At The US Box Office This Weekend

The weekend numbers are in, and the new horror movie Happy Death Day was the No. 1 film in the US and Canada in its first weekend in theaters. According to Entertainment Weekly, it pulled in $26.5 million, ahead of expectations, putting it easily ahead of the weekend’s No. 2 film, Blade Runner 2049 ($15.1 million).

The horror movie Happy Death Day stars Jessica Rothe playing a college student who, in a Groundhog Day-style twist, relives the day of her murder over and over until she can learn who her killer is. The movie was apparently made on a tiny budget of just $4.5 million, so it seems like it’s already a hit commercially. Happy Death Day comes from the production companies Blumhouse and Universal; their win streak continues, as the companies previously worked together on Split and Get Out.

Another notable new release this weekend was Jackie Chan’s newest film, The Foreigner. It made $12.8 million in the Friday-Sunday period, landing at No. 3. The film pulled in a further $88.4 million from overseas markets, pushing its global haul to more than $100 million after just three days. Jackie Chan kicking ass still sells, and that’s great.

You can see the full top 10 list below, and be sure to go to EW to see a complete breakdown of this weekend’s US and Canadian box office results.

How To Watch The New, 2017 Leatherface Movie

The making and release of the new Leatherface movie–the 2017 one, not the 1990 version or the January release of a completely different movie that deceitful marketers decided to call “Leatherface” to capitalize on this confusion–is a saga in its own right.

(Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, released in 1990, is no longer part of the continuity, as Texas Chainsaw 3D replaced the original sequels. The “Leatherface” that came out this past January, meanwhile, was actually a movie called Playing With Dolls: Bloodlust that was re-titled in the UK when Lionsgate failed to release the real Leatherface in 2016.)

After mysterious delays, the real Leatherface is finally released–technically, at least. So how are you supposed to actually watch it? The answer isn’t simple. Leatherface debuted initially at the August 2017 Frightfest film festival in London. It’s getting a limited release in theaters on Oct. 20, and you’ll have to check your local listings to find out if it’s playing near you. But you can watch Leatherface right now if you have access to the right streaming service.

Leatherface actually released last month, on Sept. 21, exclusively on DirecTV’s on demand service. That means if you’re a DirecTV subscriber you can log in here to be able to rent Leatherface. Yes, that’s right–even with an account, you’ll still have to pay between $8 and $11 to watch Leatherface.

If you’re not a DirecTV subscriber, don’t fret. Leatherface is reportedly getting a wider video-on-demand release on Oct. 20. Exactly which streaming services Leatherface will appear on isn’t yet clear, but you can expect to find it on the usual suspects starting this Friday, Oct. 20.

Star Trek: Discovery New Review

Full spoilers follow for this episode. Click here if you want to learn how to watch Star Trek: Discovery.

A great man once said, “I don’t want my pain taken away. I need my pain!” And indeed, this fifth episode of Discovery shows us that sometimes pain is the only thing we have: Burnham’s pain over not just her general crappy life situation at the moment, but also her knowing that the Ripper tardigrade is suffering because of her actions; Lorca’s physical pain regarding his injured eyes, but also, surely, the knowledge of what happened to his last crew; Stamets’ willingness to endure great suffering in order to advance his science and spare the Ripper; and even the pain and anguish no doubt experienced by newcomer Lt. Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif), who finally joins the cast after spending six months as a Klingon POW.
