How the Infinity Stones Are Being Reinvented

Today’s Guardians of the Galaxy #147 saw the start of the “Infinity Quest” storyline where the Guardians are trying to collect the Infinity Stones. At the end, we got a big shocker that calls everything we know about the stones into question, so we hopped on the phone with writer Gerry Duggan to learn more about what the heck is going on.

Warning: this article contains full spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy #147!

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris to Feature First Raid Lair

Destiny 2’s upcoming DLC expansion, Curse of Osiris, will feature a new type of Raid experience called a Raid Lair.

As detailed during Bungie’s Twitch stream (via Game Informer), a six-player Raid Lair is shorter but “no less challenging” than your standard Raid encounter. Curse of Osiris’ Raid Lair is titled Leviathan, Eater of Worlds. Like the existing Leviathan Raid, Eater of Worlds is also set on Calus’ planet-eating ship; however, the action takes place in the lower areas of the ship rather than all the way at the top.

First Rampage Photos Set Stage For Dwayne Johnson Vs. A Giant Lizard

The first trailer for the upcoming Rampage movie will arrive Thursday. First, though, two images from the video game adaptation starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have been released.

The photos, which were first released by USA Today, don’t show the giant creatures wreaking havoc around the world. However, they do show some of the serious damage they can do as Johnson looks on. Chances are he’s contemplating how best to save the world without having to kill his mutated silverback gorilla friend, George.

A synopsis for the movie reads, “Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.”

Already, the movie has about ten times the plot of the Rampage arcade game, which first released in 1986. That said, it’s a solid enough story to properly retell the events of the game–giant monsters knocking down buildings and eating people.

Still, in the game, players are put into the role of monsters George, Lizzie (a lizard) and Ralph (a werewolf). While the synopsis notes that Johnson’s character wants to save George, it’s might be hard to paint these “fearsome” creatures in a sympathetic light.

Whatever the case, Rampage is shaping up to be the kind of action-packed adventure one would hope for when it comes to essentially pitting The Rock against Godzilla.

Rampage also stars Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Malin Ackerman (Watchmen), Joe Manganiello (True Blood) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead). It hits theaters on April 20, 2018.

Final Fantasy 15 Comrades Multiplayer DLC Out Now

Comrades–the multiplayer expansion of Final Fantasy XV–is out now, days before the one-year anniversary of the full game’s release. This DLC is just the latest in what has been a steady stream of diverse post-release content updates, from new story chapters to novelty costumes.

From our initial impressions, Comrades is proving quest and activity-filled as the Prompto and Gladiolus chapters. With the help of a modified spellcasting mechanic, we’ve taken on a number of monster hunting assignments, leaving us wondering when there’ll be missions against human antagonists. In terms of finding a group of strangers to play with, this mode has come along way from its spotty beta. Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t been hard to find players through the Quick Play feature, but you also have the option of playing with AI instead. This expansion appears to have been worth the wait after missing its original October release target.

You can try out Comrades yourself on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One if you purchased the Season Pass or as a individual purchase for $20, which still requires owning Final Fantasy XV. Next up is the long-awaited Episode Ignis chapter, which due out December 13, 2017.
