The Dynasty Warriors Live-Action Film’s First Trailer Is Here

The Chinese Dynasty Warriors film has been in the works for a long time, but it’s still happening. The first trailer for the video game adaptation is here, giving us our first look at the unquestionably epic film before its April release date.

The film, simply called Dynasty Warriors, is directed by Roy Chow Hin-Yeung, and stars Louis Koo, Wang Kai, Tony Yang, and Gulnezer Bextiyar. Dynasty Warriors has been in the works for quite a while. Filming wrapped in 2017, and the first trailer for the movie released back in 2018. Dynasty Warriors was meant to come out sooner, but was one of the many films worldwide delayed by COVID-19.

Dynasty Warriors has the heroes of the long-running game series–Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and more–fighting against Lu Bu. The movie is based (very loosely) on the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, while taking its visuals from the game series, which has the player stepping into the shoes of legendary Chinese warriors and fighting thousands of enemy soldiers in massive battles.

Game Devs Explain Why Doors Are One Of The Worst Features To Implement

When you think about the most difficult parts of making a game, it’s unlikely that the humble door would be front of mind–unless you’re a game dev who’s attempted doors before. A Twitter thread by indie dev Stephan Hövelbrinks, who is working on Death Trash, revealed that doors are notoriously within game development, with developers on titles like The Last Of Us Part 2 and The Witcher 3 chiming in to agree.

Hövelbrinks explains that the biggest issues arise from doors being “a dynamic funnel and block in the pathfinding, potentially locked, potentially destructible, but in general because they sit potentially between any game interaction or character to character situation from here to there.”

Proving his point, locked doors have been the cause of a number of game-breaking bugs, even in high-profile AAA games. Hövelbrinks points out that some AAA devs avoid using doors at all, such as the entire Assassin’s Creed series until Valhalla–though even Valhalla’s implementation of doors was often glitchy and not too popular with fans.

Outriders Demo Guide: Where To Farm For Legendary Loot

Jumping into the Outriders demo ahead of the game’s launch on April 1 is worth it–not only is it a free way to see whether you’ll enjoy the game, but your progress carries over into the full experience. To that end, farming for powerful legendaries can ensure you have a leg up on your foes. Your best course of action for finding rare items is to grind captain and boss fights.

Before getting on the grind for legendary items, you need to reach a certain World Tier. World Tiers determine how difficult Outriders is, increasing enemy health and damage but offering higher tier rewards more often. You’ll unlock higher tiers in the demo just by leveling up. In World Tier 1-3, you won’t see any legendary drops because the legendary drop rate bonus will only be +0%. Once you reach World Tier 4, that jumps up to +10% and at World Tier 5, it’s +25%. That’s still not an ideal bonus, but that’s the highest World Tier you can unlock in the demo. So keep playing and leveling up until you unlock it–you’ll likely reach it just by playing through the demo and completing all of the available campaign missions and each of the four optional side quests at least once. From here, there are two ideal methods.

As far as we can tell, you won't find Golem's Limb in the demo--this legendary shotgun seems to be exclusive to the full game.

Fight The Captain

The first way to grind for legendary loot is to replay one of the aforementioned side quests, Payback, over and over. It’s a very short quest so it’s easy to repeat multiple times. You’ll first encounter this quest after reaching Outriders’ first hub area, Rift Town, and setting out on the story mission to deal with Gauss, an Altered and Outriders’ first boss battle. Partway through this mission, you can find a wounded soldier named Audrey Storm off on the side of the main path, near the Crossroads warp flag. They will give you the Payback side mission, which you can repeat as many times as you want by returning to Audrey.

PSA: Apex Legends Now Available On Nintendo Switch

Apex Legends is now available on Nintendo Switch, letting you experience the popular battle royale while you binge a streaming show or visit the restroom. Or both at once, we don’t judge. Obviously you’ll need a stable Internet connection for the multiplayer FPS, but other than that you can tote it around wherever you want.

You can find Apex Legends on the Nintendo eShop. The game is listed as 25 GB, but Nintendo suggests you have at least 30 GB available on your system to accommodate it. And like Apex on any other platform, it requires an EA account.

This is dropping right in the middle of Season 8: Mayhem, so to make sure Switch players aren’t left in the dust behind other platforms, EA has arranged a few boosts for the new platform. For one, you’ll get a 30-level head start for free, rocketing you to around the level most players have reached in the battle pass right from the start. In addition, you’ll get double XP for the first two weeks after launch, letting you keep up that momentum.

Valheim Cheats Guide – How To Use Console Commands To Control The Game

Valheim is a game about survival, building a settlement, and finding various materials to build better weapons and armor so that you can find and defeat the enemies of Odin. If you want to shortcut that process, though, you can, thanks to a huge number of Valheim developer console commands that allow you to cheat. The commands are very easy to use if you know what they are. Lucky for you, we’ve got the complete list of console commands in this cheater’s guide, allowing you to bend the realm of Valheim to your will.

It’s worth noting that these codes won’t work in multiplayer servers for the most part–they’re single-player cheats only. That said, since Valheim allows you to take characters from one game world to another (along with all the stuff they’re carrying), it’s pretty easy to jump into a single-player game, spawn yourself a bunch of cool stuff, and then take it with you to a server with friends. If you’re looking to build some ridiculous Viking fortresses and bases, this is a handy way to do it without hours of mining materials and cutting down trees.

We’ve got lots more Valheim coverage, check out our complete Valheim armor guide, as well as our guide for finding Iron and crafting Iron gear and for finding Silver and crafting Wolf armor, for venturing through the Swamp biome, and for winning the Elder boss fight and defeating Moder, the frost dragon boss.
