The Walking Dead: Why Daryl Wants to “Burn Everybody Down”
Warning: Spoilers for AMC’s The Walking Dead through Season 7…
Daryl Dixon went to hell and back in The Walking Dead’s seventh season. Held prisoner by Negan for a long stretch, and feeling guilty for the death of Glenn, Daryl found himself in a dark place, that star Norman Reedus agrees was “emotionally wrecking” to portray.
IGN had the chance to visit the set of The Walking Dead back during production of Season 8 – which premieres Sunday, October 22nd — and talk to Reedus about Daryl rebuilding himself from last season’s dark patch and his newfound need for blood. “
wants revenge,” Reedus said of the character’s Season 8 arc. “He’s just seeing red right now. He’s going through this whole thing, feeling the guilt and realizing Glenn wouldn’t have wanted him to give up like that and he’s fighting for himself, and the people that he loves, and the people that have gone before him. So, he just wants f***ing revenge now. I don’t think there’s anybody to talk him out of what he wants to do.”

Why Gone Home Creator Left BioShock Infinite Development
Before creating Gone Home, Steve Gaynor worked at Irrational Games on BioShock Infinite, but left during development. Speaking to IGN, Gaynor discussed why he decided to leave the large-scale project in favor of returning home to Portland and founding his own development studio, Fullbright.
“I had worked on Infinite for a year and I knew it was gonna be another good year-plus before it came out,” he said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered, noting he and his wife had never lived in New England before, so working in Boston at Irrational was a new experience for them.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Two More Villains To The Roster
The Dragon Ball FighterZ roster continues to grow. Another pair of playable characters were revealed for the Dragon Ball fighting game in the latest issue of V-Jump magazine (via Gematsu), along with some details on the game’s story mode.
The two new characters joining the roster are Nappa and Captain Ginyu, two of the earliest villains Goku and friends faced in Dragon Ball Z. Nappa can summon Saibamen during battle and fire a powerful beam blast from his mouth. Captain Ginyu, meanwhile, can call in the Ginyu Force and use his signature Body Change ability to swap characters and HP with his opponent.
The new issue of V-Jump also shared some more details about the game’s original story mode, which features the new character Android 21 and a resurrected Android 16. According to Gematsu, an event during the story causes the Z-Fighters to “fall one by one.” It seems that players will be “linked” to different characters during different points in the story; during the Android chapter, players will be linked to Android 18, while the Enemy Warriors chapter links them with Frieza.
Players will advance through the story mode by battling, and V-Jump says you’ll be able to freely focus on where you want to focus on earning experience points, rescuing allies, learning skills, and more. In addition to that, players will be able to “deepen bonds” with characters, which will give you the chance to overhear private conversations.
Dragon Ball FighterZ launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Japan on February 1. The North American release presumably won’t be too far behind; the game is slated to arrive in the region in “early 2018.” Players who pre-order the physical version will unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta early as a bonus. You can see all of the confirmed Dragon Ball FighterZ characters so far.

The Mighty Thor #700 Review
No matter how many times Marvel might relaunch, re-brand or renumber Jason Aaron’s Thor run, the quality remains constant. The Mighty Thor was Marvel’s best ongoing superhero comic before Marvel legacy, and it shows every sign of maintaining that status in this new relaunch.
The Mighty Thor #700 is about as good a jumping-on point as any with this five-years-and-counting saga. Aaron takes this opportunity to step back and take stock of his sprawling story and the many players intertwined in Malekith’s War of Realms. Cleverly, Aaron makes the Odinson and Karnila the focal points of this oversized tale, using the latter to examine the notion of fate and the ways in which Thor’s legend and influence have spread across time and space. All the familiar themes are here, including the clash between free will and destiny, the rift between fathers and sons and the question of what makes a god truly worthy. In the process, this story captures so much of what makes this saga great in the first place.
