James Bond Funko Pops Revealed, Including Blofeld, Oddjob And Jaws

After first announcing they were coming at San Diego Comic-Con, Funko has revealed the first wave of James Bond Pop figures that will be yours to own before the end of 2017. The line covers several Bond films and includes four different versions of the famed secret agent and some of his most notable foes from throughout the franchise.

Bond himself is represented with his looks from both Goldfinger (Sean Connery) and The Spy Who Loved Me (Roger Moore)–black tuxedo and white tuxedo, respectively–in the main set of figures. Additionally, there will also be store-exclusive 007 Pops to get your hands on. Target will carry a Dr. No version (Connery) of Bond in a black tuxedo, with Barnes and Noble offering up the Octopussy (Moore) version of the spy.

As for villains, there are a few to choose from. Blofeld is represented as portrayed by Donald Pleasence in You Only Live Twice. Additionally, both Oddjob and Jaws are available in the standard line. However, Oddjob also gets an exclusive variant with his killer top hat in hand and ready to throw. That particular figure will be available at Target.

Finally, from Goldfinger, the main line of toys will include Jill Masterson. Bond finds dead and covered with gold paint, which earns her the popular nickname Golden Girl.

While this line of Pop figures doesn’t touch on the newer films, there’s still plenty of time should Funko decide to continue the collection. Perhaps it’ll be just in time for the next film in the franchise, which is currently set for a November 8, 2019 release, even if Daniel Craig has yet to sign on.

This first set of Bond figures will be available in December.

You Are Missing Out on AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire

Halt and Catch Fire ended its four-season run on AMC this past Sunday. It was not the monumental event the end of other AMC dramas, such as Mad Men or Breaking Bad, was. The show had its devoted fans, many of them the TV critic types who espoused it frequently as “the best show you’re not watching.”

Those of us who watched it would not argue with that assessment. Halt and Catch Fire found itself dropped into the midst of an ever-expanding TV landscape. The era of “Peak TV” has made it increasingly hard for shows to make a real impact. Halt and Catch Fire never really rose above having a small-but-devoted fan base. However, in an era when dozens of shows inspire, at best, total apathy, that’s still a fact worth celebrating.

Stranger Things: Season 2 Clip Reveals Major Eleven Twist

With Stranger Things returning in just a few weeks, a huge Eleven twist has been revealed for the upcoming second season.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 2…turn back now if you don’t want to know!

The Season 2 clip, which you can view here courtesy of MCM Comic Con, shows how Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven escapes the Upside Down. Stuck in this alternate world, Eleven discovers a hole branching from the Upside Down back into the normal world. Using her powers, Eleven more fully opens up the hole between worlds and escapes back into the real world.

Of course, the first season of the show ended with Eleven suddenly disappearing into the Upside Down, with fans left wondering what exactly happened to her or how she might find her way back. The clip, which you can view key moments from in the gallery below, doesn’t indicate much about Eleven’s time in the Upside Down, but does offer a moment of hope as she can now find her way back to her friends.

PlayStation VR Drops To Just $225 (Without PS4 Camera) For A Limited Time

Price is one of the major impediments to widespread adoption of virtual reality. Like other VR headset manufacturers, Sony has worked to address that–earlier this year, it cut the price of a bundle that includes PlayStation VR and its required camera, but that didn’t do anything for people who already owned a PS4 camera. A new deal at Target, however, looks to be a great option.

Target sells the PSVR headset on its own for $300. A Target Cartwheel coupon this week cuts its price by 25%, bringing it down to $225 before tax. That’s as cheap as you can expect to find it and is an ideal way to get the headset if you already own a camera. Keep in mind that Cartwheel coupons are usable in-store only, so you’ll need to track down a retail location with the headset in stock. You can check availability on Target’s website.

Even if you don’t have the camera, you can pick it up for about $45 at Target or Amazon. That brings the combined price to $270, which is still a far cry from the $400 price of the official PSVR and camera bundle. It’s even less than the recent $300 deal that Sony offered.

PSVR celebrated its one-year anniversary last week. Sony marked the occasion by announcing that more than 60 games are on the way through “early 2018.” That includes some big-name games, including Doom VFR and Gran Turismo Sport.

Xbox One Fall Update Goes Live for All Users Today

Microsoft has outlined the new features included in the fall update for Xbox One, which goes live today for all users.

The update, which brings with it new Home, Guide and Community features, launched back in August for Xbox Insiders, and Microsoft has since gathered feedback and made refinements for the update that goes live around the globe today.

With the update, players can now personalize their Home screen by customizing what they see when they boot up their console. With the addition of blocks, players can add a friend, game, etc. to their Home screen, which can then be moved or discarded at will. The update to Home also allows you to have up to 40 pins, and adds dark, light, and high-contrast theme options.

Big Xbox One Update Out Now, Here’s What It Adds

The new Xbox One Fall dashboard update has been available, in some form at least, for the past few months. Now, Microsoft has concluded the pre-release testing phase and is ready to roll it out worldwide, beginning today.

The focus of the Fall update is personalization. One of the biggest new things you will notice is that the Home screen is changed significantly with the introduction of content “blocks.” Anyone who has used the Xbox One dashboard knows well that it can be difficult at times to find what you’re looking for. With the blocks, you can select what content–games or apps–show up where you want them to.

Additionally, things like friend activities, leaderboards, Looking For Group messages, and more now show up at the top of the revamped Home screen. Another new feature in this update is the option to choose between dark, light, and high-contrast themes for your dashboard from the Settings tab.

There are quite a few other notable new additions and changes with the Xbox One Fall update. We’ve listed off a few of these below, but be sure to go to the Xbox Wire to see a full rundown of what’s changing, with commentary from Xbox engineering lead Mike Ybarra.

  • It should now be “faster and easier” to move left and right through the horizontal tabs by flicking the left thumb stick or bumpers.
  • A new “Friends in games” notification shows you if a friend is playing the same game
  • Invites now appear in the multiplayer tab of the Guide.
  • The Game Hub for a particular title now shows more information.
  • The Community feed screen now offers a full-screen option to help display more content such as screenshots and gameplay clips.
  • Right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew are now available.
  • A new Microsoft Store logo will replace the old one.
  • The Mixer tab now has previews so you can see more before joining.
  • Broadcasts at 1080p will now happen automatically if your network can support it.
  • On Xbox One X, Mixer can capture gameplay and screenshots in 4K/HDR.

Additionally, this Xbox One Fall update lays the groundwork for the launch of the Xbox One X in November. It adds a page that lets you know how to do things like transfer your games to an external hard drive or copy them over your home network to Xbox One X. You can also start to download 4K content for existing games so you’ll hit the ground running if you buy an Xbox One X right at launch. What’s more, the store adds a tab that lets you sort by Xbox One X-enhanced games.

This new update is expected to be the Xbox One’s last big one of the year. Microsoft doesn’t historically release major UI updates in those months because so many new players are coming online and significant changes could lead to confusion.

Tokyo Ghoul: The Movie Review

The live-action film adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul checks a lot of boxes; it follows the source material, there is tons of blood, people are eaten, coffee is brewed, and the kagune pack a punch. Taking on the Dove arc only, this movie condenses the introductory story of Tokyo Ghoul competently, but only just so. It struggles to explore Kaneki’s waning humanity beyond screeching, and some of the film’s biggest moments fall flat due to odd directorial choices and irregular shot composition. This is far from the best version of Tokyo Ghoul, but it is at least a fun movie so long as you’re not looking for depth.

Like the anime and manga before it, Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki as he transforms from human to a human-eating ghoul after receiving his ghoul attacker’s organs. He goes on to join a group of rather peaceful ghouls that run a cafe, Anteiku, that acts as a refuge from the Commission of Counter Ghoul, a government agency charged with finding and eliminating ghouls.
