Vin Diesel Doesn’t Blame Dwayne Johnson For Fast & Furious 9 Postponement

Vin Diesel has responded to the controversy surrounding Fast & Furious 9, saying on Instagram that “it’s unfair” to blame anybody for the next film in the immensely-popular franchise being postponed until 2020.

Specifically, Diesel was replying to costar Tyrese Gibson, who took a shot at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, blaming Johnson for the postponement.

This is not the first controversy to arise since Johnson joined the franchise as Luke Hobbs in Fast Five. In the past, there have been rumors about Johnson and Diesel not seeing eye to eye. However, despite this fact, Diesel has come to the defense of Johnson in this moment.

Dragon Ball Super Episodes 109 and 110 Review

Episodes 109 & 110 aired as a two-part special, and as such are being reviewed together as one entity. Spoilers for both episodes follow.

After weeks of fighting, the event that everyone in the Tournament of Power was waiting for finally happened Jiren and Goku met up in battle. An epic, nearly world-shattering fight ensued. It wasn’t without its stumbles, but they were few and far between, which left ample room for Super to amaze and delight with its amazing battles and stunning ki-blasts.

One thing that becomes clear only after viewing both episodes in their entirety is Episode 109’s excellent pacing. This is especially important for Dragon Ball Super because, let’s face it, Dragon Ball series of the past weren’t exactly known for their success in condensed, action-packed fights. This instilled a worry that potentially great moments would be ruined with excessive exposition and pointless screaming, but that thankfully was not the case with these episodes.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Episode 1 Review

“April Showers Bring May Flowers” picks up before the events of the first three-part OVA, “Those Awaiting a Star.” It’s not quite as unsettling as the recounting of series’ protagonist Hatori Chise’s past, but its disturbing themes and glimmers of hope still ring very true in this introductory episode. You won’t need to see the OVA to keep pace, but it does provide context to Chise’s actions. But even in this episode’s darkest moments, there’s an overwhelming sense of wonder that enchanted me into its world deeply seeded in Celtic mythology and faerie lore.

Desperate to find a place to not worry about her survival, Chise sells herself into slavery to be bought by a powerful non-human sorcerer named Elias Ainsworth. He takes her in not only to train her as an apprentice but to become his future wife. This is by no means the typical love story between two obnoxiously beautiful, perfect characters. It’s dark and foreboding with characters that are very much broken; it’s in coming together that they can grow and put an end to their suffering.
