Have you wanted to play as, what the official WWE Twitter account calls, the “#BaddestWomanOnThePlanet” in a WWE game? Do you like to get rowdy in the wrestling ring? Ever wondered how the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion would hold her own against your created wrestler? You can answer all these questions and more, as 2K Sports has announced that Ronda Rousey will make her WWE console video game debut in WWE 2K19 as a pre-order bonus.

“As a WWE Superstar, having support from the Piper family means everything to me,” said Ronda Rousey. “It’s an honor to be part of WWE 2K19 and have my name mentioned alongside so many important Superstars in WWE history, including Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Ultimate Warrior, Sting, and Goldberg.”

In addition to Ronda Rousey, you get the masked wrestler Rey Mysterio if you buy early. Both wrestlers will come with signature outfits: Rey Mysterio’s “Royal Rumble 2018” outfit and Ronda Rousey’s “WrestleMania 34/Roddy Piper-inspired” outfit. Those that purchase either the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions of WWE 2K19 will receive early access to the game and the game’s season pass. SDCC 2018: Wonder Woman: 1984 – What We Know So Far

Not only was Wonder Woman DC’s first female standalone superhero movie, it was also their first superhero movie to be directed by a woman. It was massively successful, setting a few box office records and becoming a favorite among many fans.

The hints from director Patty Jenkins have given us some idea of what the sequel, Wonder Woman: 1984, will look like, but we’re hoping to find out even more at San Diego Comic-Con. In order to get ready for the biggest comic convention of the year, we’ve compiled everything we know about the highly-anticipated sequel so far.

What It’s About

Aside from the title, there’s not a lot that we know so far about the plot of Wonder Woman: 1984, but in basic terms, it will be set in the 1980’s and will have to do with the cold war. It will be set in the USA this time around, and Wonder Woman will be taking on soviet forces in some capacity. Whether she will be a spy, a soldier, a diplomat, or some other role is unclear at this point, but let’s be honest, it’s not like this movie is going to be about political maneuvering.

Who’s Who

Crew

  • Like the first installment in the franchise, this movie will be directed by Patty Jenkins.
  • Jenkins and former DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns are working on the script together.

Cast

  • Gal Gadot will be returning to dazzle, us once again, as the epicly powerful Wonder Woman.
  • Chris Pine will–somehow— be returning as Steve Trevor. Fans of the franchise know that his character supposedly died at the end of the first movie, which took place roughly 70 years before the next one is set, so who knows how they’re making that one work. Some kind of time traveling, resurrection, or paternity reveal is sure to follow.
  • It’s been confirmed that Kristen Wiig will be taking up the villain role as Cheetah. In the comics, Cheetah is Wonder Woman’s arch nemesis, but she’s not a Russian conspirator, so it’s unclear how she will factor into the plot.
  • It’s also been confirmed that Pedro Pascal, who you may know as Oberyn Martell from Game of Thrones, has been cast in an unrevealed role.

What’s Been Released So Far

So far, there has been no official trailer for Wonder Woman: 1984, but we have gotten glimpses from the photos that have been released. There’s a photo of Wonder Woman all suited up, with a few minor changes made to the suit from the first movie tweeted by Gal Gadot herself. It shows metal that gleams a little brighter, a bodice that is a more vibrant red, and a skirt that’s a truer blue, giving her a sleeker look that harkens back to the classic Lynda Carter suit.

Patty Jenkins recently tweeted the first photo of Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, but it didn’t give us all that much insight into the character; Kristen Wiig honestly just looks like herself in it. In the photo, she stands in a museum, wearing normal clothing, and staring up at a display that isn’t in view in the photo.

Patty Jenkins confirmed Chris Pine’s involvement with the film by sharing a photo of him in a matching jacket/pants combo featuring some very ’80s tennis shoes and some even more ’80s background characters. He looks a bit confused in the photo, so it’s possible that they’re hinting at some sort of time traveling situation, but of course, we can’t be sure.

What We Want At Comic-Con

We know that the Wonder Woman squad will be at Warner Bros.’s Hall H presentation in some capacity. Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot will likely be there, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Mostly, there are a lot of remaining questions about the characters. There’s the big Chris Pine question, namely, how does Chris Pine fit into this movie? It would be awesome to hear a bit more about Cheetah as well, like how she will factor into the plot and what her suit might look like. We also don’t even know who Pedro Pascal is playing, just that he’s an important character, so any information around that casting would be appreciated.

In a perfect world, we would get a trailer, but considering that James Wan already announced that he will drop the trailer for Aquaman at Comic-Con, and Wonder Woman: 1984 isn’t coming out for more than a year, we’re not holding our breath. That said, a trailer is still a possibility and some more plot details, especially around the central conflict, would be great.

Hopefully, we’ll get enough information at San Diego Comic-Con to hold us over until Wonder Woman: 1984 comes out November 1, 2019.

Experience The Good Place in Real Life at Comic-Con

If you’re looking for a good place to hang out at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, NBC has just the ticket – IGN has an exclusive first look at the network’s interactive activation, and it promises to deliver the goods (we’ll stop now, we promise) without exposing you to any unfortunate shopping cart accidents.

Once again, NBC will host an immerse fan experience at the Gaslamp Square in front of the Hard Rock and Omni hotels, and this year the network is creating a replica of The Good Place’s neighborhood, where fans can become part of the show’s iconic scenes and participate in exclusive photo and video opportunities. According to NBC, the experience will be the network’s largest activation yet, and will also host giveaways and a digital takeaway for visitors. Check out a rendering of the Good Place-themed installation below.
