The Last of Us Part 2’s Ellie Will Have an NPC Companion

The Last of Us: Part 2 is about honoring Ellie, and Naughty Dog has made a point of implying she may be the only playable character. But in a new interview, Naughty Dog Vice President Neil Druckmann let slip that she’ll have someone else along for the ride.

“Well, so, Ellie used to be an NPC, but she’s the protagonist in this story, so the player is controlling Ellie. It’s safe to say with the game that we made in the past that there will be some NPC with you in this story, even though we’re not showing

in this demo,” Druckmann told Buzzfeed.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – Switch and 3DS Review

In 2013, Super Mario 3D World’s ‘Adventures of Captain Toad’ challenges impressed Shigeru Miyamoto so much that he requested a full game be made out of them. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was released for Wii U a year later, comprising 68 intricate levels based on the Japanese tradition of hakoniwa, or miniature gardening. Here’s what we thought at the time:

“Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is one of the smartest, most charming puzzle games of 2014. I’d also call it one of the best platformers of the year, except these characters can’t jump. It speaks volumes about Treasure Tracker’s wit and environment design that it completely strips us of the mobility powers that we’ve come to expect from a game set in the Super Mario universe and still provides lots of interesting puzzle options.”

Code Vein Delayed to 2019

Code Vein, Bandai Namco’s vampire-based action RPG, has been delayed until 2019.

A press release from Bandai Namco states the release date for Code Vein has been pushed back to some time next year, even though the original September 2018 release date was only announced last month.

Herve Hoerdt, Vice President Marketing and Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, says the delay is due to the desire to improve the game and exceed fan expectations after feedback from hands-on demos.

“Armed with knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we made the decision to postpone the release of Code Vein to further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title. It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct one.”
