Plenty Of Cheap Switch And 3DS Games Discounted Right Now In Nintendo UK Sale

If you hadn’t noticed, it is no longer 2017. And you know what that means: cheap video games! To celebrate the new year, Nintendo UK is discounting a number of Eshop titles on both Switch and 3DS.

Some big Switch games are included in the Happy New Year sale, including Nintendo’s fighting game, Arms, which is 20% off at £40. 1-2-Switch, meanwhile, is down to £28–a 30% reduction on the standard Eshop price. More Switch games on offer include NBA 2K18 (£35.74), Flip Wars (£6.29), LA Noire (£33.74), WWE 2K18 (£33), and SteamWorld Dig 2 (£11). Plenty more titles are discounted in the sale; take a look at the full list here.

On 3DS, the games on offer include Metroid: Samus Returns (£28), Super Mario Maker (£24.49), Mario Kart 7 (£28), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (£11.19), and Super Smash Bros. (£28). Check out the rest of the discounted 3DS games–as well as some cheap Wii U titles–here.

The New Year sale comes as the Eshop adds five new Switch games. This week’s new titles are King of the Monsters, Stikbold: A Dodgeball Adventure Deluxe, Pic-a-Pix Deluxe, Grand Prix Rock ‘N Racing, and Azkend 2: The World Beneath. Nintendo has also announced that the Switch is the best-selling games console ever in the US during the first 10 months on sale. This means the hybrid device has surpassed the previous record holder, the Wii.

Are you planning on picking up any games in the Eshop sale? Let us know in the comments below.

Amazon Officially Shuts Down Anime Strike

After launching Anime Strike less than a year ago, Amazon has shut down its anime-specific streaming channel.

The company has also shut down Heera, its Bollywood-focused channel. “We have decided to move the curated catalogs of Anime Strike and Heera into Prime Video so that more customers can enjoy this content as part of their Prime membership,” a spokesperson from Amazon told Forbes.

As such, Amazon’s catalog of streaming anime, which previously required both a Prime membership and a $5 per month Anime Strike subscription, is now available to all Prime members. Since the launch of Anime Strike on January 12 of last year, Amazon received a fair amount of criticism from anime fans for its double paywall.
