The Best TV Shows of the Decade
To say the TV landscape has changed in the past decade is the understatement of a lifetime. With the boom of streaming services and rise of quote/unquote Peak TV, there are literally more TV series being released in 2019 than there are days this year.
But looking back at the last 10 years, it’s easy to see why: The medium of television is delivering some of its best content ever, even rivaling film in terms of quality and execution.
So your friendly neighborhood IGN entertainment team took on the daunting task of narrowing down what we consider to be the best 100 TV shows of the past 10 years. But a few things to keep in mind before we begin: This is not a ranked list, but rather just the 100 TV shows we thought were the best of the decade. As such, we’ve listed the shows by year, and then by alphabetical order within each year. That said, please be sure to let us know what you think of our picks, and what faves of yours didn’t make our list!

For more on TV in 2019, be sure to find out which shows made our best of the decade list, the worst-reviewed shows on Netflix, and our spoiler-free review of HBO’s Watchmen series.
2019 was another big year in TV with over 600 scripted series for viewers to choose from. Some of this year’s major highlights were the controversial final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, the debut of Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher starring Henry Cavill, and the launch of the highly-anticipated Disney+ streaming platform. And with even more new original programs from streamers like NBCUniversal’s Peacock and WarnerMedia’s HBO Max launching in 2020, next year is poised to be an even bigger year for television.
Disney Plus Star Wars TV Shows Could Become Movies
While we don’t know what Star Wars stories will be told on the big screen in the future, Disney CEO Bob Iger has hinted at what the future of the franchise could potentially include. With the first season of The Mandalorian ending on the Disney+ streaming service, it’s entirely possible it or any of the service’s upcoming Star Wars offerings could wind up becoming movies.
“I don’t look at it as just television, I look at it as an extension of Star Wars storytelling,” Iger said during an appearance on The Star Wars Show [via Slashfilm]. “What Disney+ has given us the ability to do is to do just that, is to bring Star Wars to people in new ways, and to bring new Star Wars to people. It’s not the same places or the same characters. Just look at Mandalorian. While, obviously, there’s a lot shared, there’s a lot that’s really fresh, and I love that.”
And while Disney+ is allowing new corners of the Star Wars galaxy to be explored, Iger believes it would be easy to take those TV stories and continue them on film–or vice-versa. “I love the ability to really be agnostic in terms of what platform it’s being made for,” he explained. “And so it could be, down the road, that a TV show becomes a movie and a movie becomes a TV series. I’m not making any announcements here or not, but I think it’s important for us to be agnostic.”
As previously revealed, the second season of The Mandalorian started filming before Season 1 premiered. That will debut in fall 2020, with an Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone series following. Based on what Iger is saying, though, either of these shows–or any of the others coming in the future– could be continued as films. With the Skywalker Saga over after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, perhaps now is the time to give Baby Yoda his own nine-movie series.
Fortnite Snowflake Decoration Locations (Winterfest Challenge Guide)
Fortnite‘s Winterfest event is almost over, but there’s still a little time left to complete its challenges and unlock special holiday-themed rewards. One task that may pose a bit of trouble, particularly if you don’t know where to look, is to destroy snowflake decorations. If you need help finding those, we’ve put together this guide explaining where to go.
Where Are The Snowflake Decorations?
Unlike ice boxes, which you need to track down to complete a separate Winterfest challenge, the snowflake decorations are much more difficult to spot because they’re small and typically hanging in windows, so it’s easy to overlook them. However, the decorations are fairly plentiful, and you only need to destroy three of them to complete the challenge, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble tracking the required number down once you know where to look.
As previously mentioned, the snowflake decorations are typically hanging on different houses, which can be found in specific named locations. We’ve spotted decorations in the following areas, so your best bet is to look in any of these places:
- Holly Hedges
- Frenzy Farm
- Pleasant Park
- Lazy Lake
- Retail Row
- Salty Springs
How To Complete The Challenge
Once you’ve tracked down a snowflake decoration, all you need to do is either shoot it with a gun you picked up or hit it with your pickaxe to destroy it. Repeat this process until you’ve destroyed three decorations and you’ll complete the challenge.
You don’t need to destroy all three within a single match, although you will most likely be able to anyway since the decorations are usually hung in bunches. After you’ve completed the challenge, you’ll unlock your reward: a special holiday back bling.
Fortnite’s Winterfest challenges will only be around a few more days, so you’ll need to act quickly if you’re hoping to complete them and unlock the special Winterfest rewards. You can see the full list of challenges, along with all of our maps and guides for this season’s trickier missions, in our ongoing Fortnite Chapter 2 challenges roundup.
