Final Vikings Episodes Will Air On Amazon First
History Channel’s Vikings–a historical drama inspired by the sagas of legendary hero Viking Ragnar Lothbrok–will be making a bit of history of its own, ending the series first on Amazon Prime Video before Season 6’s final 10 episodes debut on its home-base cable network. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon will get first crack at the full final season, releasing first on December 30. The History Channel will then air the last episodes sometime in 2021.
Due to the vagaries and particulars of streaming rights negotiations, Amazon and Hulu have had Vikings’ first five seasons–but yielded the first half of Season 6 to History Channel. The upcoming December 30 date will allow Prime Video to stream the second half of Season 6 first.
“Our monumental Vikings saga is coming to its conclusion, but not before you’ve had the chance to watch some of my all-time favorite episodes,” said Vikings creator Michael Hirst. “Prime Video will uniquely expose the series finale to a streaming audience first. Prepare to be astonished, and for many surprises along the way. And if you have tears to shed, then also be prepared to shed them.”
Days Gone Writer And Director Exit Sony Bend Studio
Two of Days Gone‘s best-known faces have departed from Sony Bend Studios. Game director Jeff Ross revealed on Twitter that he would be leaving the studio behind the zombie post-apocalyptic sandbox, adding that he was looking forward to “new challenges” in the future:
This week is my last at @PlayStation and @BendStudio. I’m incredibly proud of all the games I got to make, but also looking forward to new challenges ahead. I’ll post about my plans later, but I’ll be moving to Chicago once COVID calms down. #JeffsGone #DaysGone

Vikings Final Episodes Will Debut Exclusively on Amazon Before History Channel
On December 30, all of the final episodes of Vikings Season 6 will be made available on Amazon Prime Video. This is counter to the show’s traditional format, which sees episodes released weekly on History Channel before they are then made available on streaming platforms.

“Prime Video has already delighted Prime members with all five and a half seasons of Vikings,” said Brad Beale, VP worldwide content licensing at Amazon. “On Dec. 30, Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria and Ireland will be the first to learn the fates of the beloved characters as the epic drama concludes in the final 10 episodes.”
At present, it is yet to be determined the date when History Channel will air the remaining ten episodes, but it will be sometime in 2021.
With Vikings concluded, showrunner Michael Hirst will move onto production on a sequel spin-off show for Netflix, as well as a limited series about the bubonic plague in 17th century London for History Channel.

Watch Dogs: Legion Update 2.30 Is Live, Patch Notes Here
Ubisoft has unveiled the latest update for Watch Dogs: Legion, and it fixes a variety of unintended issues that have cropped up in the open-world hacker game. These are mostly bugs of a traditional video game variety, including players falling through floors, multiple crashes, and a particularly nasty issue that caused players to spawn without any player characters after dying on Permadeath mode. (The patch notes jokingly refer to this as a Super Game Over.)
However, there are two notable issues that Xbox players have complained about on social media that the patch does not address. One of those is a bug that reportedly corrupts save files on the Xbox Series X/S. Another is a constant audio glitch also affecting Xbox Series X/S players. Ubisoft says that the team has replicated those issues and is currently working on fixes for both.
Watch Dogs: Legion’s previous patch, Update 2.20, added a manual save game button to PC and added stability improvements for all platforms. Along with that update, Ubisoft announced that the multiplayer component of Legion has been delayed to early 2021 so that the development team can focus on ironing out the bugs. As of this writing, Watch Dogs: Legion is down to $45 as part of Ubisoft’s Black Friday sale.
Tenet Finally Gets Theatrical Release In Los Angeles This Week
While most of 2020’s big movies were either moved to next year or released straight to streaming platforms, there was one blockbuster that received a more traditional release–Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Although Tenet hit theaters worldwide in the summer, its release was far more limited in the US, where many key markets remained closed. Los Angeles was one of these, but it’s now reported that the film will finally screen there this month.
According to Variety, Tenet will screen at the Hollywood Legion Theater drive-in from December 5 to 16. The drive-in was set up this summer as an alternative to the Hollywood Legion’s indoor Post 43 theater, which also operates a club for local veterans but had to close because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The LA screening will precede Tenet’s digital, DVD, and Blu-ray release. The movie hits home entertainment formats on December 16. It won’t be cheap to own a physical copy however–it will reportedly cost $45 on 4K UHD, $36 on Blu-ray, and $29 on DVD.
