Shroud Teases Post-Mixer Plans

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, has begun teasing his return after the Mixer shutdown. Like Ninja, Shroud was one of the big streamers that signed an exclusivity deal with Microsoft’s platform after finding success on Twitch. It’s unclear what exactly Grzesiek is teasing, but he has posted two animated kill montages.

Both teases appear to show footage from Valorant, Riot Games’ tactical team shooter. Valorant was one of the many games Grzesiek would stream and has been compared to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which Grzesiek played professionally on Cloud9’s team before retiring to streaming.

Incidentally, Cloud9 responded to the more recent tease, “we are ready.” It is possible that Grzesiek could be joining a professional team for Valorant, but for now we must wait for an official announcement.

Next Song From Halo Infinite’s OST Released, Listen Here

Microsoft has shared a new song from the Halo Infinite OST. The track “Reverie” was composed by Curtis Schweitzer, who is working on the game’s music alongside Gareth Coker.

“Reverie” was featured in the “Discover Hope” trailer for Halo Infinite, while it was also heard in the campaign demo for Halo Infinite in July. You can listen to it below.

Schweitzer explained on the Halo Waypoint website that he’s been a fan of Halo for a long time. “I’ve been composing most of my life, and also playing Halo for a good chunk of it, too, so the chance to put those two things together is something I’m very excited about,” he said.

A Steam Error Is Removing Games From Players’ Libraries

Every Tuesday afternoon, Steam carries out scheduled maintenance on its systems, sometimes causing outages while in progress. This week, after maintenance was completed, players found that some games in their library that had already been bought were showing a “purchase” button instead of “play.” Even if the player tried to purchase it again, it would cause an error saying the content was already in their library–rendering the games unable to be played.

The bug is described in a Resetera thread, with a number of reports showing up on the Steam subreddit. Dead By Daylight seems to be adversely affected, as well as Bethesda games–with one player describing issues with Fallout: New Vegas, and another saying that all Bethesda games in their library had been affected. One Reddit user has said that the issue is affecting all games in their library that are currently on sale on Steam. This checks out with Dead By Daylight, which is currently 60% off in the Steam store, while Bethesda is also having a sale on most of its content.

The Dead By Daylight Twitter account has put out a notice about the issue, though it appears to be an issue on Steam’s side.

Disney Suffers Multi-Billion Dollar Loss Due To Park Closures

Entertainment giant Disney has suffered a rare financial hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has led the company to close its marquee parks in California and Florida.

The House of Mouse reported earnings on Tuesday, and the company pulled in $11.79 billion in revenue, which was down 42 percent compared to last year. Disney’s theme park division specifically had a challenging quarter, taking a $3.5 billion hit that led to an overall loss of $2 billion.

Disney closed Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Disney World in Orlando, Florida back in March as the virus spread through the US and the world. Disney World and most of the company’s international parks have since re-opened at a limited capacity, but the marquee location in Anaheim remains closed.
