See The World’s Largest Collection Of Video Games
An American man has set a new record for the biggest video game collection. Antonio Monteiro has more than 20,000 games games in his home collection, which as you might have guessed is absolutely massive; it spans multiple rooms.
His library of games includes the complete North American collections for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii U, GameCub, Wii, Dream Cast, Sega Genesis, and others. He also has more than 1,000 Nintendo DS games.
Check out the video above to see Monterio’s collection from his home in Richmond, Texas. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, Monteiro’s collection is so massive that it took him eight days to count all the games to submit for the world record.
The game that started it all? Golden Axe. Monteiro thanked his mom and dad for buying him the game and helping kick off his interest and enthusiasm in video game collection. His favourite? Castlevania IV.
Among his rarest games is a SNES title released by Nintendo for the US Military to help soldiers with weapons training and marksmanship; it was not sold at retail.
In addition to games, Monteiro said he owns more than 100 video game systems so he can play every title in his collection.
