PlayStation Network Back Up After Brief Outage

Update: Sony’s PlayStation Network is now reportedly back online, with all services running, according to the Network Service Status page. This includes account management, social features, and more.

IGN will update this page should any more details about the outage arise.

Original story follows:

The PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently down, and Sony is investigating the cause, but it may be difficult for players to currently dive into this week’s biggest releases, Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

PlayStation confirmed on Twitter some users are experiencing issues logging into the PSN, and the network seems to be affected worldwide. The PlayStation Network Service Status website reveals most services are experiencing issues across PS3 and PS4 consoles. At the time of reporting, only PlayStation Vue is problem-free.

The Shape of Water led the pack with 13 nominations, but this year’s nominations also saw a slew of praiseworthy firsts. We discuss what we thought of the various nominated films, performers, and directors as well was which movies and artists we think were overlooked this year.

We also give our thoughts on those Captain Marvel set photos that revealed Carol Danvers’ costume and react to those rumors that Netflix might distribute Cloverfield 3.

A few years ago, the CES trade show was awash with the next big thing: Curved Displays. The theory behind them being that the curve fills more of your periphery and is therefore more immersive. The curve also focuses the viewing sweet spot to a single seat right in front of it, making it perfect for a monitor sitting on your desk.

PS4 Pro Deal Gets You Free Monster Hunter World And One Other Great Game

Sony may have recently announced some new PS4 bundles featuring Monster Hunter World, but if you’re simply looking for the best possible deal, that’s not the way to go. Instead, a new offer for those in the United States throws in two free games with the purchase of the system, making it an ideal way to jump in.

Retailer Newegg’s store on Ebay is currently selling the PS4 Pro at its regular price of $399 with two freebies. The first of these is Monster Hunter World, the acclaimed RPG which was just released today, January 26, and sells for $60 on its own. The other free game is a bit older (and thus cheaper) but is nonetheless an excellent one in Titanfall 2.

These items are all new and unused, and a free shipping option is available; the only caveat is that it’s only available in the US. Obviously, you won’t be getting your hands on it for release day, so patience is also required. But if you’re willing to wait for it to be delivered, this might be your best option for picking up a PS4 Pro and Monster Hunter around launch. The offer is available until Friday, February 2.

If you’re willing to spend a bit more, there’s also an official Monster Hunter World PS4 Pro bundle that includes a copy of the game and a specially designed system (and controller) for $450/£380. It’s out now, but supplies are “very limited,” and in the US, it’s a GameStop-exclusive, so it may not be easy to get your hands on.

Those who play Monster Hunter World will be able to obtain exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn-themed content for a limited time. Additionally, you’ll enjoy a variety of enhancements by playing on a PS4 Pro (or Xbox One X), as you can see in our 4K PS4 Pro Monster Hunter World video. Initially announced last July, dedicated servers are a feature that the community has been very vocal in their desire for. P2P servers have been criticised for the poential for cheating, connection issues, and latency. Ubisoft confirmed that they will go live after the Age of Wolves drops on February 15.
