Why We Love Jason and Friday the 13th

It’s Friday the 13th! So we decided to re-run this retrospective from a few years ago — our positively ghoulish look at one of the the most iconic slasher series ever created. We’re talking, of course, of Friday the 13th.

Jason Voorhees, with his signature hockey mask and machete combo is undoubtedly one of the most spine-chilling bogeymen to ever cause the mass-soiling of jimmy-jammies all over the world; and with good reason, too. With a body count in the triple-digits, few have survived an encounter with this undead beast of a man. The dude is a death machine.

He isn’t the only killer in the Friday the 13th series, though. Other characters have indeed killed in Jason’s place throughout the franchise. Want to know who they were? IGN UK Podcast #404: Jedi, Replicants and Assassins

Keep Watching: Exclusive Trailer and Poster

We have the exclusive new trailer and poster for Keep Watching, a new horror-thriller from Screen Gems scaring its way into theaters for ONE NIGHT ONLY, at 10pm on Halloween, October 31st.

The film stars Bella Thorne (The Duff, Ratchet & Clank), Ioan Gruffudd (the first two Fantastic Four movies), Natalie Martinez (Under the Dome), Leigh Whannell (Insidious, Saw), and Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead).

Directed by Sean Carter from a script by Joseph Dembner, Keep Watching follows a family imprisoned by intruders who are forced to play a terrifying game of kill or be killed.

According to the official plot synopsis, “As the night unfolds, the game’s mysterious rules become clear, and the family realizes their nightmare is being streamed live to riveted viewers all over the world, who are compelled to Keep Watching …not knowing if what they’re seeing is real, or staged.”
