The market for 27-inch gaming monitors is pretty massive, and sorting through all the different brands and features is a real chore. But if you’re looking for an affordable monitor that pretty much checks every box the typical PC gamer could want—including a 2560 x 1440 resolution, Nvidia’s G-Sync, and a super-fast 165Hz IPS panel —the AOC Agon AG271QC (See it on Amazon) / (See it on Amazon UK) looks like a solid choice on paper. I put it through its paces to find out if it delivers on the promise of its spec sheet:

Humble Store Sale Drops Prices On Racing Games

It’s not the weekend yet, but the Humble Store just kicked off a weekend sale it’s calling the “Festival of Speed.” To celebrate games that let you go fast, the store is dropping prices on a number of the biggest racing games on the market. The discounts vary, but they go up to 80% off.

Last year’s Dirt 4 got one of the bigger price drops, down to $18. This is a challenging, realistic game that puts you on dangerous dirt roads and makes you react to your co-driver’s instructions from the passenger seat. It’s more newcomer-friendly than the also-excellent Dirt Rally, which is on sale for $12.

Racing games set on asphalt roads are on sale as well, including Assetto Corsa, which got a price drop to $12, and Project Cars 2, which is for half off at $30. Formula 1 fans will be pleased to see F1 2017 also got a big price cut to $18. Many games on the list are part of a series, and in some cases the entire series is on sale. You can grab some older installments for just $3 or $4.

If you’d rather race motorcycles, you have plenty of options on that front, too. MotoGP 17 is down to $15, while TT Isle of Man will cost you $36. Valentino Rossi is down 80% to $10 as well. On the stunt motorcycle racing side of things, MXGP3 – The Official Motocross Videogame is $15, while Monster Energy Supercross is $35.

On top of all of these game deals, many of the expansion packs are also on sale. So if you’ve been holding off on buying vehicle packs for one of the games above, take a look to see if they’re on sale too.

For the complete list of deals, visit the Humble Store. Just make sure to do it soon, because the sale only runs through Sunday, April 8.

Some links to supporting retailers are automatically made into affiliate links, and GameSpot may receive a small share of those sales.

The First Purge Trailer Reveals Who Created The Annual Horror Tradition

Blessed be our New Founding Fathers for letting us purge and cleanse our souls with a trailer for the next entry in this insane movie franchise. The first full trailer for The First Purge, a prequel that revisits the creation of the lawless evening, has arrived and it gives a seriously twisted history lesson.

As it turns out, Dr. May Updale (Marisa Tomei) is the mind behind the Purge, which she deems a “psychological” device. “If we want to save our country, we must release all of our anger in one night,” she reasons.

Unlike the first three movies, in which the annual Purge is a nationwide affair, The First Purge keeps the events of the night localized in Staten Island, New York on a trial basis. As the trailer explains, though, when the citizens refuse to participate, former members of the military are sent in to rile things up and coax the locals into fighting back. With no police to help and trained killers trying to destroy your city, it seems as if there is no other choice but to join in the Purge if only to survive.

Along with Tomei, the case of the new film includes Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, and Luna Lauren Velez. The First Purge hits theaters, appropriately, on July 4. Blessed be America, a nation reborn.

Final Fantasy XV: 4 New Story DLC Episodes Coming in 2019

During a panel at PAX East today, Square Enix confirmed that four additional DLC episodes are coming to Final Fantasy XV in 2019.

The episodes will portray an “alternate grand finale” for the game, showing “a future everyone longed for,” meaning a possible outcome that could have existed for each of four characters:

  • The first full episode will focus on Ardyn and is tentatively titled The Conflict of the Sage. The episode “portrays the struggles of Ardyn. Witness the resentment he harbored toward Lucis for over 2000 years, and his clashes with the Astrals”
  • A smaller “side story” episode will focus on Aranea Highwind of the Niflheim Empire and will focus on the Starscourge disease. “The final day of the Empire turns out to be Aranea’s worst day,” Square Enix teased.

Final Fantasy XV’s Multiplayer Mode Will Get Standalone Release

During a panel at PAX East today, Square Enix announced a new update coming to Final Fantasy XV’s Comrades multiplayer mode.

Later this year, a new update will add raid bosses and battle challenges for players for the first time.

This summer, Comrades will also be available standalone, so players won’t need to have the disc or full game installed in order to play. No other details were revealed (including whether the standalone version will be available for free or for a price), but Square Enix says it will reveal more information down the road.

Avengers: Infinity War Tracking for $200 Million-Plus U.S. Opening

Avengers: Infinity War is currently tracking for a $200 million-plus opening in the U.S.

THR reports the MCU ensemble film could make north of that during its opening weekend, which begins on April 27. However, Disney insiders are reportedly being more conservative with a suggested $175 million to $200 million opening.

Only seven films have ever opened to $175 million or more domestically, not adjusting for inflation, and most of them are from Disney. The list includes this year’s Black Panther ($202 million), which recently passed 2015’s Jurassic World ($652.3 million) at the domestic box office. It’s now the fourth highest-grossing movie of all time in the U.S with an estimated $652.5 million domestic total so far.
