Given the popularity of games like PUBG and H1Z1, you might be familiar with the battle royale genre. However, Fortnite: Battle Royale is a tad different from its competitors. In recent news, the latest Fortnite: Battle Royale patch that was scheduled to launch has been delayed. Epic also announced it is bringing Fortnite: Battle Royale to mobile. Those with iOS devices can now sign up for a chance to take part in an exclusive invite event. If you’re curious to see how the game runs on mobile, you can check out the first gameplay footage of Fortnite on iOS here.
A new Fortnite update is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but in addition to checking out the new stuff it has to offer, Battle Royale players have some other things they can now do. Fortnite‘s week 4 challenges have rolled out for Battle Pass owners, and some of them might prove to be tricky.
The full list of challenges is outlined below; one requires you getting the right weapon and utilizing it efficiently (dealing a specific amount of damage with a sniper rifle), while another has you tracking down chests in the Flush Factory or supply drops around the map. There are two in particular that you might need some help with.
The first of these is not labeled as Hard; you’re told to visit five different ice cream trucks. These are scattered around the map–there are more than five in total, with a handful located right inside major locations like Tomato Town, Pleasant Park, and Retail Row. Others are in less obvious locations, though you can track them all down with this map shared by Reddit user imkairu.
What is labeled as Hard is the challenge that reads, “Search between a Vehicle Tower, Rock Sculpture, and a Circle of Hedges.” That somewhat vague clue is pointing you toward a point in the southeast corner of the map, in the G9 section. It’s just on the edge of some water–you can see it in this screenshot from Reddit user __Kaneda__, or see the map they provided here.
You can check out all of the week 4 challenges below. Keep in mind that, despite being added weekly, you have the entirety of Season 3 to finish these out. That means you can also go back to complete previous weekly challenges.
Weekly challenges are only available to those who own the new Season 3 Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks. It expands the number of optional tasks you’re given in Battle Royale and allows you to unlock more items like outfits, gliders, and emotes. The Season 3 Battle Pass also includes new types of items, such as loading screens and Back Bling. Check out our gallery of Battle Pass rewards for a look at everything you can get.
Fortnite‘s recent Teams of 20 mode has come to an end, but players won’t have to wait long to jump into the next limited-time event for Battle Royale. Epic has revealed that the next special mode coming to the popular free-to-play game will be Blitz, and it kicks off on PS4, Xbox One, and PC early next week.
As previously detailed, Blitz mode features much shorter match times than usual, which Epic says results in “faster [and] more intense matches.” The maximum duration of a match in Blitz mode is 15 minutes, and each one begins with the storm circle already closing in.
To go along with the shortened match times, Epic has adjusted loot availability in Blitz mode. Most notably, the likelihood that treasure chests and ammo boxes will spawn during a match has been significantly increased. Likewise, the spawn interval of Supply Drops and their descent time has been decreased, while Floor Loot spawns “nearly 100% of the time.” Harvest resources have also been doubled, and resources found in loot has been increased.
Blitz mode begins in Battle Royale on March 19. Epic hasn’t announced an exact end date for the event, but limited-time modes typically run for a week. You can find more details about Blitz mode on the official Fortnite website.
Following a day-long delay, Fortnite’s 3.3 patch is now available on all platforms. It removes Smoke Grenades from Battle Royale and introduces a new weapon in their place, remote explosives, which can be detonated from a distance. The update also adds Supply Llamas, a new form of loot drops that can be found hidden in unusual locations.
Following a day-long delay, Epic Games has released the newest update for Fortnite. The 3.3 patch adds new content to both Battle Royale and Save the World modes, with the former getting several new features.
First up for Battle Royale is a new weapon, remote explosives. These are pretty self-explanatory, allowing you to place a bomb and then detonate it from a distance. These appear to be ideal for dealing with player-built fortresses. They are a Rare-level rarity item and their addition has resulted in Smoke Grenades being “vaulted,” meaning those are no longer available in-game for the time being. Remote Explosives come in stacks of four, with a maximum of 10.
Remote explosives can be found in treasure chests or supply drops, as floor loot, or through Supply Llamas, another of this patch’s new features. These are essentially treasure chests found in unusual locations that will reward you with good loot.
Also notable is that a new limited-time mode, Blitz, launches on March 19; it consists of more fast-paced matches that feature a 15-minute time limit. Various bugs have also been fixed, and Epic says it’s made improvements to the visual effect when you’re hit by a bullet that should make it easier to tell which direction it came from.
For Save the World players, a new Spring It On chapter, Luck of the Storm, is now available with new rewards, including St. Patrick’s Day-themed heroes. Epic has also made some changes to stat caps and rolled back patch 3.2’s adjustments to critical chance.
Patch 3.3 is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One–maybe Drake will be diving back in to check out its new additions. You can see everything that’s changed in the full patch notes on Epic’s website.
The level of speculation about the director of each new James Bond movie is almost as great as who will play the iconic superspy. We know that Daniel Craig is back for Bond 25, and there have been a number of recent reports that Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle might helm the movie. Now Boyle has spoken about whether this will happen.
In an interview with Metro US, Boyle confirmed last month’s reports that he was working on a Bond script with his regular scriptwriter John Hodge. “We are working on a script right now,” he said. “And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in six or seven weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.
“John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”
While this is not confirmation that Boyle is to helm the Bond movie, it does support the earlier story about the development of the scripts for Bond 25. Last month, Deadline reported that there are two screenplays in the works, one from Hodge, the other by Bond veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. The studio will decide which script to go with once Hodge’s is delivered; if the Hodge script is chosen, then Boyle will direct it. If not, he will step away and a new director will be hired to direct Purvis and Wade’s screenplay.
The latest two Bond movies–Skyfall and Spectre–were directed by American’s Beauty‘s Sam Mendes, but he left the franchise last year. There was also months of uncertainty as to whether Craig would return to play 007 for a fifth time, but in August he confirmed that he will be back. Bond 25 hits theaters on November 8, 2019.
