Ninja Left “Disgusted” After Twitch Accidentally Promotes Porn On His Old Channel

Popular streamer Ninja, whose real name is Tyler Blevins, has said he is “disgusted and so sorry” after Twitch promoted a pornographic stream on his now-dormant channel.

The streaming star recently left Twitch to sign an exclusive deal with rival streaming platform Mixer. If you visited his old Twitch page on August 11th, however, rather than finding his old broadcasts, you were presented with a list of popular live channels instead. One of the most-watched streams during this time was a channel showing porn, which appeared on the list of recommendations on Ninja’s channel before Twitch eventually shut down the illicit stream.

Ninja posted on Twitter shortly after, apologizing to anybody that saw the recommendation and expressing his disgust that something like this happened.

“I have no say in any of this stuff,” he said. “This is the line, this is the straw. I’ve been trying to get the whole channel taken down to begin with, or at least not promote other streamers and other channels on my brand, on my friggin profile. So for anyone who saw that, I apologize and I’m sorry.”

The streamer’s Twitch channel has since reverted back to showing his past broadcasts, though this may only be a temporary change.

Emmett Shear, the CEO of Twitch, has apologized to Ninja and explained why these recommendations appeared in the first place.

“Our community comes to Twitch looking for live content,” he said in a post on Twitter. “To help ensure they find great, live channels, we’ve been experimenting with showing recommended content across Twitch, including on streamer’s pages that are offline.” This refutes Ninja’s claim that Twitch doesn’t do this with any other dormant channels, “Just me.”

Shear goes on to say, “This helps all streamers as it creates new community connections. However, the lewd content that appeared on Ninja’s offline channel page grossly violates our terms of service, and we’ve permanently suspended the account in question. We have also suspended these recommendations while we investigate how this content came to be promoted.” He concludes with an apology to Ninja, “It wasn’t our intent, but it should not have happened. No excuses.”

Ninja’s move to Mixer has been smooth otherwise. He’s already amassed over 1 million subscribers.

Fortnite World Champion Swatted On Stream

Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, the recently crowned 16-year-old Fortnite World Cup champion, was swatted yesterday while streaming on Twitch.

A clip of the stream shows Giersdorf abruptly exit the camera’s view, indicating the moment his father alerted him to the armed police at the door. A subsequent clip captured the streamer’s return and explanation of events: “Yeah, I got swatted… I was lucky because the one officer, he lives in our neighborhood… They come in with guns, bro. They literally pulled up.”

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

Add Switch Storage with Lowest-Ever Prices on Select MicroSD Cards

Nintendo may be busy planning new hardware models (the Switch Lite and a new standard Switch with better battery life), but those don’t do much for the many millions of people who already own Nintendo’s current-gen console. One way you can improve the Switch you already have is by adding a microSD card to boost its storage capacity. After all, the 32GB of onboard storage doesn’t go very far when some third-party games are bigger than that already.

Thankfully, Amazon has some great deals on microSD cards for Switch, but they also work in other devices like GoPros, Android phones, and anything else that uses this absurdly tiny storage medium.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Score to Include ‘Every Theme’

Composer John Williams’ brother, Don Williams, has teased details about the soundtrack for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, saying that “every theme that you ever heard” will be present in the score for the final installment of the Skywalker saga.

The Academy of Scoring Arts hosted a “score study” to celebrate the legendary composer’s musical score for 1993’s Jurassic Park last week, wherein Don – who has long worked alongside John Williams – openly discussed his brother’s long-spanning career and their latest collaboration on Episode IX.

Xbox First-Party Studios May Create Games For Other Consoles

One of Xbox’s bosses has said there is potential for first-party studios to release games on non-Microsoft platforms.

Traditionally when a platform acquires a studio, it buys the rights to publish every future game on its own console. But Xbox seem to be toying with leniency; in an interview with Game Informer, Xbox’s first-party studios boss Matt Booty said that Microsoft-owned developers like Double Fine and Obsidian might still be able to create games for rival platforms in the future.

He revealed Xbox would consider allowing studios to continue creating multiplatform games after being acquired, saying “I think that the question is less binary about, ‘should it be on Switch, should it be on PlayStation?’ and more, ‘does it make sense for the franchise?’

The MCU’s Infinity Saga Ranked

Even as Marvel Studios heads towards its group of Phase 4 films (and TV shows), which kicks off next year with the Black Widow solo movie, the end of an era is also upon us. With the release of Avengers: Endgame (and then the Phase 3 epilogue of sorts, Spider-Man: Far From Home), everything that began with the MCU in 2008’s Iron Man has come to a culmination. The Infinity Saga, as Phases 1-3 are now called, is over.

Which means, of course, it’s time to rank all 23 movies in those first three phases. While there are no bad Marvel Studios movies (yet!), some are truly great while others are just good or, dare we say it, only fine. But which are the best of the best MCU movies? And which are at the bottom of the list? IGN’s entertainment team voted, and these are the results…

4 Things Revealed by the FIFA 20 Beta Leaks

The FIFA 20 closed beta has begun, but early players have been quick to post images and video capture from the game online, revealing a variety of fun things that can be achieved in EA’s latest entry in the long-running football franchise.

It’s against EA’s rules to stream, screenshot or record any content from the beta, but that’s not deterred some players from doing it anyway. As discovered by Eurogamer, the various videos have revealed a few tidbits that didn’t make the original marketing brief by EA.

The manager customization menu is packed with tweakable appearances, including beard dye.
