Unique Game Free On Steam For A Limited Time

Four Kings One War looks like chess at first glance, but it’s a much more complex game with a serious learning curve. If you’re interested in trying it out without having to pay a dime, the game is free to keep on Steam right now.

Supporting one and two players, Four Kings One War features four different armies on a single board, and you have control of two of them. This means you can make two moves rather than one in each turn, splitting up your armies and potentially attacking from a direction your opponent isn’t expecting. It means the normal strategies and tactics used in normal chess are no longer sound, forcing even experienced players to practice.

There are multiple environments to choose from, as well, and you’ll see spirits appears and do battle when you make moves. Every move counts, as you can quickly have your own pieces overwhelmed if you aren’t careful to protect them.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Concept Art Shows Babu Frik as a Gross Bug

While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may have polarized the fanbase, leading many to seek out further explanation via the movie’s novelization, one thing moviegoers seemed to be unanimously enamored by was pint-sized droidsmith Babu Frik.

A member of Zorii Bliss’ Spice Runner crew, Babu Frik was, at first, instrumental in leading our heroes to the wreckage of the Death Star. Then he appeared near the end of the film, with Zorri, during the clash with the Sith Eternal fleet at the Battle of Exegol. And he was never not wholly adorable.

Star Wars concept designer and sculptor Luke Fisher posted a few pieces of early concept art for Babu Frik on his Instagram, showcasing a couple initial designs for the character.

The first image shows a large-eared goblin-style creature, which seems like it could have been a cute addition to the saga. The second picture is a bug-like being with giant fly eyes. Chances are fans wouldn’t have gone ga-ga for that one. You can see Fisher’s full “Early Babu Frik Explorations” post here.

Xbox Series X Supports The Unreal Engine 5 Demo Tech

The technical specifications on the PS5 and Xbox Series X are relatively comparable, but Epic Games chose to only show Unreal Engine 5 on the former during its demo this week. However, according to studio head Tim Sweeney, this decision does not mean the Xbox Series X can’t handle the impressive visual effects.

Writing on Twitter amid fan speculation, Sweeney shared that the technology powering the Unreal Engine 5 demo that Epic Games prepared will be fully supported on both systems. It chose to work with Sony to produce the demo because of “years of discussions” between the two companies.

The Lumen technology refers to a new illumination system put in place for Unreal Engine 5 that makes it much easier for environments to showcase “natural” night from various sources. Nanite is a system for creating and importing extremely detailed geometry through billions of tiny triangles.

And what better way to celebrate the announcement of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 being remastered than with a TikTok? Trust us, it’s a good one.

Epic Games is helping out indies by making UE4 royalty payments a little more developer-friendly. Now a studio only has to pay royalties to Epic once its game his a million dollars in lifetime revenue, and if the revenue drops below $10k per quarter, royalty payments cease. Nice one, Epic.

The Batman: Everything We Know About The New DC Film Including Release Date, Cast

The Batman may be over a year away, but we have plenty of information about the upcoming superhero movie.

A good Batman story never goes out of style and while the project Ben Affleck had been circling once upon a time is now long dead, a new one has stepped up to take its place. Director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War for the Planet of the Apes) has joined forces with Robert Pattinson (Twilight) for a brand new take on the Dark Knight, due out next year.

Though there’s still over a year’s worth of waiting to do for the new movie, plenty of information has been made available to us thanks to Reeves’ active presence on social media and various interviews given by the cast. We now know exactly who will star as major Gotham City characters like The Penguin, Catwoman, and The Riddler. We’ve also gotten a good look at Pattinson’s Batsuit and all-new Batmobile. We’ve even been given some clues as to what we can expect from the story and, suffice to say, it sounds like something completely and totally new for the modern era of Batman films.

We’ve broken down everything we know about The Batman and will continue to update as new information trickles in.

It’s been delayed

Originally scheduled to hit theaters in June of 2021, COVID-19 related production shutdowns have pushed the release date back to October 1, 2021.

The cast is loaded with A-listers

Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman

Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin

Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman

Paul Dano as Edward Nygma/The Riddler

Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth

Jeffery Wright as Commissioner James Gordon

It will be more “detective-focused” than other Batman movies

Not much is known about the specific plot details of the new film, but director Matt Reeves has given some hints in interviews. Namely, he’s confirmed that the story will place more emphasis on Batman as the world’s greatest detective than fans have seen before.

It will focus on the second year of Bruce Wayne’s time as Batman

Though this doesn’t mean the movie will directly adapt the Year Two storyline from the comics, Matt Reeves has been open about the relative timeline the movie will work in, saying it will cover the second year of Bruce’s time as Batman.

It features a new Bat Suit

Reeves took to Twitter to share a camera test of Pattinson in costume, showcasing a brand new Bat Suit.

And a new Batmobile

Reeves also shared photos of the new Batmobile, which looks like it draws inspiration from classic muscle cars more than high tech military vehicles.

The Riddler was nearly played by Jonah Hill

Before Paul Dano was confirmed for the role of Eddie Nygma, comedian Jonah Hill was reportedly in the running. He dropped out of the running for reasons unknown.

Pattinson believes this Batman to be more “emotional”

In an interview, Pattinson explained that his take on the Dark Knight is more akin to the feeling and vibe of a concert than a gothic drama, relating Bruce Wayne to the band The Pixies as an example. We’re not totally sure what that means, but we can’t wait to find out.

Ben Affleck will not return, we’re not sure if it’ll be part of the shared universe

Personal issues made filming features like Batman vs Superman and Justice League challenging for Ben Affleck, who recently opened up about why he abandoned his own solo Batman project. Affleck will obviously not participate in this film, which means it likely will not connect to the greater shared universe of the DCEU. But whether or not that means it will be as disconnected from the bigger DC picture like Joker was last year remains to be seen.

Alfred and Bruce’s relationship will be key

Andy Serkis recently explained in an interview that Alfred and Bruce’s emotional connection will be a foundational part of the film, and that his performance is not based off any of the Alfreds who came before him.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 Adds Timothy Olyphant

Add another name to the list of new cast members for Season 2 of The Mandalorian. The Disney+ Star Wars TV show has already wrapped filming and there have been plenty of reports about new additions, from the first live-action portrayal of Ahsoka Tano to the iconic character Boba Fett. Now another acclaimed actor is reportedly being added to the list.

According to a report from Variety, Deadwood and Justified star Timothy Olyphant has been cast for the show. If you’re wondering who he’s going to play, those details are being kept a secret for now. Based on various reports, Olyphant will join Rosario Dawson (Tano), Temuera Morrison (Fett), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze), and Michael Biehn in the new season.

As it stands now, the new season of The Mandalorian is set to premiere in October on Disney+. Meanwhile, Season 3 is already reportedly in the works and a documentary series that goes behind the scenes of the first batch of episodes is airing on the streaming service right now.
