FF7 Remake Art Book Is On Sale For $16 At Amazon

It’s been three months since Final Fantasy VII Remake released back in April, breaking sales records and evoking heated discussions about its ending. If you’re anxious for the next installment and wishing you could dive back into the world of FF7 Remake, you might be interested in Final Fantasy VII Remake: World Preview, a brand-new art book coming this fall that will feature full-color illustrations and in-depth information about the game, its characters, and the city of Midgar.

Published by Square Enix Books, Fantasy VII Remake: World Preview will release September 8 and is available to pre-order on Amazon. Fortunately, there’s a nice discount of 34% off available right now, dropping your price to just $16.53. That’s a pretty sweet deal on a 128-page hardcover art book, and we’re guessing this will be the first of a set released for each game. The book also has Amazon’s pre-order price guarantee, so if the price drops between when you order and when the item ships, you’ll receive the lowest price it’s been on Amazon.

How To Find Pearls In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Pearls are a new resource in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you need to craft the summer update’s new mermaid-themed DIY recipes. They are also extremely rare, and so far there are only two official ways to actually get them.

How To Get Pearls In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

  1. Diving To The Ocean Floor – While swimming in the ocean, just dive down when you see columns of bubbles rising to the surface and chase the deep sea shadow until you catch something. More often than not, you will come up with one of the 40 new sea creatures added in the new summer update, but if you’re super lucky, you might find a pearl.
  2. Trading Scallops With Pascal – Pascal is a recently-arrived visitor who will appear once a day when you dive down and find a scallop, though not always on the first scallop. He will offer to trade you for it. Most of the time, you’ll get a mermaid DIY recipe or mermaid clothes, but sometimes he will gift you a pearl. The rate that he gifts pearls over mermaid recipes and clothes is still unknown.

These are the only official, confirmed ways to get a pearl in Animal Crossing: New Horizons right now. Neither of these methods require any special tools, but you will need to purchase the wet suit to start swimming and diving, as the only place you can find pearls is in the ocean.

Farming Or Grinding For Pearls

There’s no official way to farm pearls or grind for pearls in New Horizons that doesn’t require “time traveling,” or adjusting the system clock on your Nintendo Switch to force-skip days. If you decide to time travel, the only possible way to get more pearls would be to grind for sea creatures until you get your daily Pascal encounter.’

Ready Player One Is Getting A Sequel Novel, Ready Player Two

Hey, remember the ’80s? Don’t worry, Ernest Cline is here to remind you in case you forgot with a sequel to his novel, Ready Player One called–wait for it–Ready Player Two. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the new book will be hitting shelves on November 24 in North America.

Ready Player One, the novel, was first published back in 2011, but you’ll probably remember it from the more recent movie adaptation helmed by Stephen Speilberg in 2018. The story, which relies almost entirely on nerd culture from the 1980s, follows a boy named Wade Watts who lives in a dystopian future where everyone relies on a massive virtual reality game called The Oasis for the most basic necessities. Being the chosen one (by virtue of his love of, you guessed it, the ’80s) Watts was made to solve a series of DaVinci Code-like puzzles (centered around trivia about the ’80s) hidden within The Oasis to become the sole heir of The Oasis’s creator’s company and fortune. In the process, Watts cyber-stalked and then eventually won over a girl who was also great at ’80s trivia (but less great than Watts himself, of course, was.)

EA Put On Blast By Investor Group Over Huge Payments To Top Executives

Gaming giant Electronic Arts has been put on blast by one of its investors for the lucrative pay packages that the publisher gives to some of its highest-ranking executives.

Dieter Waizenegger, the director of The CtW Investment Group, said in a notice that EA has “gone too far in terms of executive pay,” and is calling on shareholders to vote against the “Say-On-Pay” proposal for EA’s upcoming shareholder meeting on August 6. Waizenegger has also called out Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick for his huge pay and sought changes within the Call of Duty company.

Specifically, Waizenegger says EA CFO Blake Jorgensen and CTO Kenneth Moss are paid too much, and it’s an especially poor practice, as EA is laying people off, Waizenegger said. EA is said to have laid off 4 percent of its total workforce in 2019.
