Madden 21 Patch Notes (September 16): Here’s All The Changes

The latest patch for Madden NFL 21 has arrived, and it addresses a number of relatively small issues with the game and one big one. Starting with the big one, the September 16 patch fixes an issue that could prevent the PC edition from launching at all.

The update, which is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, also addressed multiple issues with passing and fake kick run plays in the MUT Squads mode. It also fixes a general gameplay bug that stopped players from passing the ball after a handoff in a a run-pass-option play.

You can see the full patch notes below, as posted by EA on the Madden forums.

Medal Of Honor: Above And Beyond Sets A Release Date For December

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, the first new game in the series since 2012’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter, has a release date. The VR title from Respawn (Titanfall 2, Apex Legends) will release on December 11 through the Oculus Store and Steam.

The game, which features both a single-player campaign and multiplayer modes, will feature stories from WWII veterans and survivors about their experiences, which will also influence the game’s levels. The whole game will be set during the second World War, marking a return after the PS3/Xbox 360 reboot transplanted the series into the modern day.

Work on the game began four years ago, and involved a lot of travel to research the areas depicted in the game, as well as interviews with veterans. The game is touted as featuring a “movie’s worth of narrative performance” in a press release sent to GameSpot, with 120 pages of scripted narrative captured.

PS5 Preorder Fiasco: Internet Reacts, Microsoft Responds To All The Issues

It’s been a very big day for the PlayStation 5, as we finally know the price, release date, and launch lineup for Sony’s next-generation console. While people are excited by Sony’s various announcements, the situation surrounding pre-orders has been something of a fiasco.

Sony confirmed the PS5 launch date and price during its reveal event, but a bigger surprise was that pre-orders were available … immediately. This led to a global race to secure the PS5 before retailers ran out of stock–and they did. It’s not a surprise that the system was a hot commodity but the issue for many was that Sony gave no warning about pre-orders.

Actually, they did, but the message was not consistent. Worldwide marketing boss Eric Lempel said back in July (via IGN) that Sony would be forthcoming and transparent about the pre-order details for the PS5 so people could plan and prepare. But that didn’t happen. Here’s Lempel in July: “I think it’s safe to say…we’ll let you know when preorder will happen. It’s not going to happen with a minute’s notice. We’re going to at some point let you know when you can preorder PlayStation 5,” he told Geoff Keighley. So, please, don’t feel like you have to go run out and line up anywhere until you receive official notice on how that will work.”

PS5 Backwards Compatibility: 99% Of PS4 Games Will Be Playable, Sony Boss Says

The next-gen floodgates have opened, and we now finally know the price and release date of the PlayStation 5. The system will launch on November 12, but the launch line-up isn’t huge. However, you’ll be able to play various PlayStation 4 games on the system from launch, and it sounds like backwards compatibility will run deeper than we initially thought.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan said that backwards compatibility has been tested with “thousands” of games, and that most of them work. In fact, the figure he gives is “99 percent,” meaning that it will be rare for a PS4 game to not work on Sony’s new console.

Sony initially confirmed that the PS5 will be able to run most of the “top 100” PS4 games, but later said that the system will support an “overwhelming majority” of PS4 games. 99% is certainly an overwhelming majority.
