Shazam! Zachary Levi Cast in DC Movie
New Line has found its Shazam! star in Zachary Levi.
IGN can confirm that Levi, who’s best known for his leading role in the TV series Chuck, will play Earth’s Mightiest Mortal in the upcoming DC Comics film adaptation. This isn’t the first time Levi will appear in a comic book film, as the actor played Fandral of the Warriors Three in Marvel Studios’ Thor sequels.
Zachary Levi as Fandral in Thor: The Dark World
Shazam! tells the story of a boy named Billy Batson, who, by simply saying “Shazam!” can transform into an adult superhero. Each letter in the DC hero’s name stands for a different god/historical figure—those being: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury—whose attributes are bestowed upon Bastion when he transforms.

Inhumans: IMAX on ‘Misalignment’ and Disappointing Returns
The first two episodes of Marvel’s Inhumans were not received especially well when they debuted in IMAX theaters last month, which, according to IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond, is because of a “misalignment of customer expectations.”
As reported by Deadline, Gelfond addressed the underwhelming performance of the theatrical premiere during a quarterly earnings call, essentially attributing the poor reception to moviegoers expecting to get a film-quality experience but instead getting to two episodes of a television show.

Lethal Weapon 5 May Be in the Works
Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Dick Donner are looking at the possibility of making Lethal Weapon 5.
Deadline reports the trio are interested in a sequel, and Donner would direct the film for Warner Bros., with the script handled by Lethal Weapon 4 writer Channing Gibson. The report claims there are “many moving parts” and so nothing is official just yet, but that all parties are interested.
The Lethal Weapon franchise focuses on the relationship between reckless cop Riggs, played by Mel Gibson, and his more even-headed partner Murtaugh, played by Danny Glover.

Sony Is Announcing 7 Games Next Week
Sony is apparently going to announce seven games next week. The company said in a blog post today that its briefing at Paris Games Week on Monday, October 30, will include “seven all-new game announcements.” This covers both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR games. These announcements will start coming in during Sony’s pre-show event, kicking off at 8 AM PT on October 30.
Then at 9 AM PT, when the show begins in earnest, Sony will “give you an exclusive new look at the next wave of huge PlayStation titles.” And after the event ends, Sony’s post-show stream will “dive deeper” into the reveals. So this is all to say: Monday sounds like it is going to be a BUSY day.

“It’s going to be a wild day,” Sony’s Sid Shuman said. The blog post goes on to say that “E3 was only half the story.” Some of Sony’s E3 announcements this year included a Shadow of the Colossus remake, a 2018 date for the new God of War, and the first look at Call of Duty: WWII’s multiplayer.
Sony’s Paris Games Week briefing will be streamed live basically everywhere, and we’ll have a page on GameSpot where you can tune in. We’ll of course also have a full breakdown of all the big reveals.
What are you hoping to see during Sony’s Paris Games Week briefing? Let us know in the comments below! And this may not be the end of Sony’s reveals this year, as PlayStation Experience is coming in December.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Review
Everything that made Wolfenstein: The New Order an excellent single-player first-person shooter is dialed up for round two. With a cast of instantly likeable heroes and bone-chilling villains giving emotional context to its bloody uprising against high-tech Nazis, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus has come to play.
It really is incredible how well this story works, considering how absurd its sci-fi version of 1961 is and how wildly the tone shifts from scene to scene. One moment it’s ultra-serious and delivering a sickening dose of venomous racism, abuse, and cold-blooded cruelty. Not that we needed another reason to want to overthrow an alternate-reality Third Reich who won World War 2 and conquered the world, but it’s hugely effective in getting the blood boiling. And yet, the next moment it’ll transition to scenes of laugh-out-loud comedy before pivoting back to BJ Blazkowicz dealing with his own mortality as he withers away from the wounds he received at the end of The New Order.

Publishers Don’t Realize Microtransactions Are Hurting Them, Too
Last week, EA announced that they were closing down Visceral Games, the studio working on a new Star Wars game, essentially because it was too linear and story-based – meaning, exactly what I want from a Star Wars game.
They said the game is instead being “reshaped” to fit the “games as service” brand, which is a business model causing a whole bunch of developers to turn their backs on the type of games I grew up playing – the ones I’ve loved for my entire life. Of course, Battlefront 2 has a 5-7 hour single-player campaign, but it also has microtransactions that, in the beta, effectively encouraged a pay-to-win, low-key gambling system.

Super Mario Odyssey Amiibo Costumes Guide: What Each Figure Unlocks In-Game
Super Mario Odyssey is a huge, wonderfully designed game brimming with personality. Although it doesn’t specifically impact gameplay (for the most part), one new thing it introduces is the ability to dress Mario up in a wide variety of costumes. These range from his wedding outfit to Waluigi’s overalls and many others.
Amiibo figures play a part in accessing these costumes, as you can scan select ones to unlock a corresponding outfit in-game. They can also provide various bonuses, such as extra hearts and–in the case of Mario’s Amiibo figures–invincibility for 30 seconds. In the video above, we provide a full rundown on what you can get. Be aware that the costumes thankfully aren’t exclusive to Amiibo figures–you can unlock everything in-game without owning any.
To scan in an Amiibo you own, you have to speak with the appropriately named Uncle Amiibo. He’s the Roomba-looking robot who can typically be found near your ship after completing a kingdom. Speaking with him brings you to a menu where you can scan in your figures–just hold one over the reader on the right Joy-Con (or the middle of the Pro Controller) to do so.
Super Mario Odyssey is out now on Nintendo Switch. It earned a rare 10/10 in our Super Mario Odyssey review, and if you’re just getting started we have 10 essential tips as well as six things we wish we knew before starting Odyssey.
