ESPN2 Is Airing A Whole Lot Of Madden NFL 20

Esports continues to dominate the world of self-isolation, this time with EA Sports’ Madden NFL 20 taking the spotlight on ESPN2. The 2020 Madden Bowl is coming up soon, and with a lack of in person sporting events taking place, is likely to see even more interest than usual.

ESPN2 kicked off a month full of Madden with five hours of back-to-back play on Sunday April 27, including a celebrity Madden NFL 20 tournament for charity, the Madden Bowl Last Chance Qualifier, and the first two episodes of the Road to Madden Bowl mini-series.

If you missed watching live, you can catch the Last Chance Qualifiers on the Madden Twitch account, while the Road To Madden will only be available on ESPN2 for now, with re-runs on April 28 starting at 11 PM EST. The third and final episode will air on May 2 at 11 AM EST.

Avengers Directors Want Infinity War And Endgame To Return To Theatres

When movie theatres do eventually re-open, it’s expected that cinemas may bring back blockbusters to encourage people to return. Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame are two of the biggest movies of the past five years, and their directors would welcome the idea of these films returning to cinemas.

Joe Russo told CinemaBlend that it was a career highlight for himself and his brother the way that people flocked to cinemas to see the final two Avengers films and enjoy them communally with friends and family. They would be “ecstatic” for Infinity War and Endgame to return to cinemas to try to spark the movie business once more to help the theatre business get back on track after the COVID-19 crisis.

“For us, that’s really the strength of the theatrical experience is that it combines audiences, and it combines you globally. To have been a part of movies that did that, on that scale with that level of emotional connection from the audience, was really very touching, and will be the highlight of our careers,” Joe Russo said. “So, using those films to get people back into the theaters? We would be ecstatic. I mean, any opportunity for people to go back and share in those stories together is one that we would support.”

Supernatural Aims To Use VR To Make Home Exercise More Exciting

Supernatural is a new fitness app for the Oculus Quest, combining the fundamentals of VR movement games like Beat Saber with personal trainers and progress tracking. Supernatural is out now in the US and Canada, and promises to shake up isolation exercise–if you already own a Quest, that is.

In an interview with GameSpot sister site CNET, the app’s creators said Supernatural was built around the concept of making exercise so fun that it doesn’t actually feel like exercise. “When you’re surfing or snowboarding, you’re never squatting in a wave like, ‘Oh man, I wish this squat was over,'” Aaron Koblin, co-founder of Supernatural developer Within, said in the interview. “Dancing is primal, moving your body is fun, and–key for an antisocial person like me–it’s doing it at home in the dark with nobody watching. That’s what allows me to be liberated.”

Supernatural operates similarly to Beat Saber, a dancey VR game many VR players have already been using to keep active in isolation, getting players to hit flying targets and move their body through shapes in lunge-like motions. Unlike Beat Saber, the point of Supernatural isn’t technical mastery, but physical fitness.

WW2 Fantasy Movie Starring Mickey Rourke Was Allowed To Film During COVID-19

Most major movie and TV show productions shut down due to COVID-19, but not all of them. The Mickey Rourke-starring World War II fantasy horror movie, Warhunt, was filming when the lockdowns began, and it was in a unique position to be able to complete production.

According to Variety, production was allowed to continue on Warhunt, which was filming in Riga, Latvia, with crew members wearing facemasks and gloves. Additionally, production staff had their temperatures taken twice daily, while they also practiced social-distancing and used disinfectant on their equipment, in adherence with local guidelines.

Each actor had their own makeup kit, so that the makeup artists only used brushes and other equipment on one actor. Additionally, the makeup stylists wore facemasks.

A set of what seems to be major spoilers for The Last of Us Part II has leaked – watch what you’re searching for, people.

In the past, bots on social media sites have sent spoilers as automated replies to posts including related terms – we haven’t yet seen reports of this but, if you are trying to wait for release, it’s likely worth paying extra attention to tweets containing the name of the game, or its main characters.

What makes the situation worse is that we don’t even know a release date for the game, after it was delayed indefinitely due to supply chain problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

For less ruinous Last of Us 2 content, we spoke to Neil Druckmann about Joel’s role in The Last of Us Part IIwhy The Last of Us Part II isn’t an open world game, as well as how dogs affect stealth and combat.

Fallout 76 May Finally Add Pets

Even before Fallout 76 was released, fans were clamoring for Bethesda to add pets to the open-world game. Now, it’s finally happening–maybe.

As part of a recent Reddit AMA, project lead Jeff Gardiner teased that Bethesda is looking into the possibility of introducing pets, but not ones you can eat. “Edible ones? I kid. Now that we have our companions system in the game, we are looking to add pets as well,” Gardiner said (via Kotaku).

At PAX Australia in October 2018, just a month before Fallout 76 launched in November of that year, Bethesda boss Pete Hines said to a crowd that the online RPG would not allow you to get a dog companion at launch.

Pierce Brosnan Admits To Mistreating Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 In Goldeneye

Driving fast cars is meant to be one of the many things secret agent James Bond is skilled at, but it turns out 007 actor Pierce Brosnan made a rookie error with the beautiful Aston Martin DB5 he got to drive in 1995’s Goldeneye.

As reported by Digital Spy, from a tidbit picked up in the Esquire watch-along of the film with Brosnan, the actor revealed that he forgot to take off the handbrake while driving the Aston Martin in one scene–and not just once.

“I drive up, and I get out, and they say, ‘Cut. Do you want to drive the car back?’ and I say, ‘Yeah, I’ll drive it back’. So, I get out, do my little Bond quip, get back, reverse the car, go back to [my] starting position. We did this about five, six times, and on the sixth go round I could smell burning.”
