Cris Tales Isn’t Shy About Its Chrono Trigger Influences, But It Has New Ideas Too
Revealed at E3 2019, Cris Tales is a time-bending 2D tribute to classic Japanese role-playing games. In a similar vein to Chrono Trigger and Radiant Historia, Cris Tales brings together a cast of young heroes as they travel the world and explore three distinct time periods in the past, present, and the future. It leans heavily into time-manipulation gameplay by allowing you to explore and interact with characters across different eras in real-time, which results in various consequences, expected and otherwise, in your adventure ahead.
A free demo of the opening hour of Cris Tales is available now on Steam, but we had the chance to get an early look at the game’s next major story event set in the walled city of St. Clarity. From here, we got to see how in-depth the game’s time-travel gameplay can get. In addition to storylines and side-quests that can bend and alter with your actions, protagonist Crissbell can also manipulate the flow of time in battle, allowing her to amplify attacks and weaken foes with the use of her time crystals.
Speaking with GameSpot, Modus Games executive vice president of production Derek Neal and Dreams Uncorporated studio head Carlos Roca Silva explained what went into the making of Cris Tales.
Deep Rock Galatic Leaves Early Access This May
Ghost Ship Games has released a new trailer for Deep Rock Galactic, which announces that the Steam Early Access game will officially release for both Xbox One and PC on May 13. The co-op first-person shooter will be available for $30 USD / €30 / £25.
“When we started developing Deep Rock Galactic four years ago, none of us at Ghost Ship Games had imagined the game as it is today,” Ghost Ship Games CEO Søren Lundgaard said. “While many of the core features have evolved and work as we hoped, there are also entire sections of the game that we didn’t dream of, and that is largely due to our community.”
First entering Steam Early Access in 2018, Deep Rock Galactic sees you and up to three friends team-up as a group of dwarven miners. There are four classes of dwarf, and your team is encouraged to work together in order to explore procedural-generated caves and reach your goal. Mistakes can see you accidentally encountering hostile aliens, which your team will then need to defeat.

Maps such as Coolwind Farms and MacMillian Estate are being altered with the new tools the developers have implemented. Various maps will have changes to the size, layout, spacing, and spawning mechanics, with aspects of the maps being balanced to remove some unfair exploits players have been utilizing.
One of the main mechanics in the game for the survivors is repairing generators in order to escape. The devs have made two major changes to this mechanic in the update: reduced efficiency when repairing with other survivors and skill check bonuses. The speed reduction for repairing a generator with other survivors has been raised to 15%, with the reduction increasing by a further 15% per additional survivor.
Here Are The Top 5 Biggest Box Office Flops Of 2019
2019 was a huge year for the global movie market, with Avengers: Endgame reaching $2.79 billion to become the highest-grossing and most profitable movie in the history of cinema. The Lion King, Frozen 2, Joker, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Toy Story 4 were among the nine movies to cross $1 billion at the global box office. But not every film from 2019 was so successful.
Deadline has rounded up the biggest box office flops of 2019, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix claims the unfortunate record for the biggest loser of the year. Based on experts and sources, the site claims the movie ended up losing $133 million.
It had a budget of $200 million, and it made just $252 million at the global box office (the bulk of which came from international markets). There were also significant marketing costs and other expenditures that turned the film into an overall money-loser, according to the report. You can see the full P&L sheet at Deadline.
After Life Season 3: Ricky Gervais Says He Has Ideas For A (Possible) Next Season
Actor, writer, and director Ricky Gervais has created some very memorable shows over the years, including The Office and Extras. All of his shows have lasted only two seasons, but he said in a new interview that he could be convinced to bring his latest show, After Life on Netflix, to a third season.
Gervais told Deadline that he could envision a third season of After Life “because I love the world.” More specifically, Gervais said the characters he created are very interesting and worth exploring in greater depth. The setting, a small town in the UK, is also compelling enough to examine more, he said.
“There are so many strong characters. I’d say there are six characters that could have their own sitcom; that could be the lead in a sitcom,” he said, adding that he is not lacking for ideas. “Even the place is a character, I think. We’ve only seen five hours of all those people. That’s nothing. How well do you know someone in five hours? You know, it’s still only half a season of an American sitcom, if you could both seasons.”

Parks And Rec Reunion Special — Co-Creator Shares More Details On What To Expect
The cast of NBC’s beloved workplace comedy Parks and Recreation are reuniting for a special one-off episode that will help raise money for COVID-19 relief. Series co-creator Mike Schur has now shared some more details about the show, including information about the plot and how it was filmed.
During a conference call attended by The Hollywood Reporter, Schur said the story will involve Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and connectedness during the COVID-19 crisis where people are physically separated.
“The whole special is not about the disease,” Schur said. “It’s about people coping with it and navigating their daily lives. The most important theme of the show is: Leslie Knope believes in friendship. She was loyal and friendly and put all her eggs in the power of friendship. It’s about her connecting with people and holding that group of characters together at a time when they’re unable to leave their homes. That’s the running theme.”
