Month: March 2020

When communities are forced to remain indoors for an extended period of time, what are we to do? Some people are homeschooling their children, some are working from home, celebrities are finding ways to entertain, even as they self-isolate, which has led to some funny, inspirational, and tender moments during this stressful time.

Thanks to the wonders of social media, we can still share a good laugh with the actors, musicians, and comedians we know and love.

Singing and Reading Celebrities

First up, we have Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, inviting some of her friends to sing “Imagine”. Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Adams, and more join Gadot in a rendition of the John Lennon song.

Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo recorded a Jimmy Kimmel Live segment from home:

Ellen, the effervescent talk show host, and voice of Disney’s Dory, has taken up calling her celebrity friends. First, she called Adam Levine to wish him a happy birthday, then she called singer John Legend.

Speaking of John Legend, he and a number of musicians have been broadcasting mini-concerts from home:

Coldplay’s Chris Martin started the trend by broadcasting live on Coldplay’s Instagram for 30 mins earlier this week:

As well as Death Cab for Cutie frontman Benjamin Gibbard:

Disney actor Josh Gad, who voices Frozen’s Olaf and portrays Beauty and the Beast’s Lefou has been reading stories every night on Twitter:

See you all tonight at 7:30 EST/4:30 PT for some #GadBookClub pic.twitter.com/3cx9oubzfR

Lastly, the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger and “alright alright alright” actor Matthew McConaughey both took to Instagram to encourage everyone to stay home and keep the faith:

Stay. At. Home. That means you, too, spring breakers. pic.twitter.com/jUOgjLaOGN

Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report will also be available.

On the TV front, Netflix is releasing a second season of After Life starring Ricky Gervais, and a new adult animated show from Adventure Time’s Pendleton Ward called The Midnight Gospel. IGN debuted the first look at Midnight Gospel featuring footage from the upcoming series.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a staggering amount of clothing and accessories to try on and wear. There is a smorgasbord of options for customizing your character, but if you want more options than what’s available at the start, you’re going to need the Able Sisters and their masterful tailoring skills.

Below we explain how to unlock the Able Sisters clothing shop on your island. If you’re curious about how to unlock or upgrade other buildings and more, be sure to check out our Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide hub. Otherwise, be sure to read our review in progress.

How To Unlock The Able Sisters Clothing Shop

Unlocking the Able Sisters clothing shop is going to take a bit longer than other buildings on your island, as it requires Mabel to visit your island three times. Like many of the other visiting NPCs, her coming to visit the island is random. While you may be lucky enough for her to visit a few times in your first week, it may take around two weeks for the whole process to finish.

In a bid to attract more residents to the island, Tom Nook asks you to help construct a campsite for the town in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This immediately follows the completion of the Resident Services building once you enter for the first time post-construction. Once you have a campsite, random villagers may come to visit, and from there you can even invite them to move to your island. The campsite is also integral to Amiibo integration, which we detail below.

Below we explain how to unlock the campsite on your island. If you’re curious about how to unlock or upgrade other buildings and more, be sure to check out our Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide hub. Otherwise, be sure to read our review in progress.

How To Unlock The Campsite

Tom Nook will ask you to figure out where you want the campsite to be, so go out and find the perfect place you want visiting villagers to commune and set up their tents. Like with most other buildings, after you’ve placed the campsite plans down on your island, construction will begin the next day and will take the entire day to complete. Once it has been completed, it’s worth noting that there’s no guarantee that a villager will visit right away.

While the Resident Services tent works well for the first week or so on the island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it starts to lack the resources to accommodate your villagers as your lovely home begins to change from deserted island to bustling coastal town. In response to this expanding scope, Nook decides to upgrade from a tent to a building fully equipped to manage a proper town.

Below we detail the step-by-step process of upgrading the Resident Services tent to a real building. If you’re curious about how to unlock or upgrade other buildings, be sure to check out our Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide hub. Otherwise, be sure to read our review in progress.

How To Unlock The Resident Services Building

You may be eager to get your Resident Services building up and running, but unfortunately, the only way to upgrade it is with time. After a week or so (for us, it happened on the sixth day), Tom Nook will announce that the Resident Services building will go under construction the following day. It will be completed a day after that (so the eighth day in our case).

Originally due to launch in November 2019, Doom Eternal has finally, at long last, arrived for everyone to play (except Switch owners). To celebrate the release that’s been a long time coming, developers Hugo Martin (game director) and Marty Stratton (executive producer) released a nice video message, thanking the developers for their hard work and more.

“On behalf of everyone at id Software, Bethesda, and everyone who’s worked so hard on this game, we want to take this opportunity to say thanks,” Stratton said. Martin added, “So many great people put in so much work to make this day possible, and we really just want to thank everyone involved.”

Doom Eternal was delayed from November to March to give the team at id Software more time to polish the game, and their efforts appeared to have paid off. Doom Eternal is picking up great review scores across the board, including an 8/10 from GameSpot in our review in progress.
