Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Opening Cinematic Is Gorgeous And Faithful

Not making the delay to April any easier, Square Enix has revealed the opening cinematic for Final Fantasy VII Remake, just shy of two months before the game is set to release.

The opening to Final Fantasy VII is memorable, giving you a glimpse of the Midgar skyline and the oppressiveness of Shinra’s establishments over the city. It’s also the first time you see protagonist Cloud, as he pulls off some daring maneuvers to board a moving train and kick-off the Avalanche mission at the start of the game. The remake is incredibly faithful to the original, as you can see for yourself below.

Square Enix has been teasing Final Fantasy VII Remake extensively over the past few days. An assortment of screenshots released yesterday gave us new looks at the main cast, some initial shots of series favorites such as the Chocobo, and a glimpse at some side-quests you’ll be able to undertake off the beaten path.

Declaring Fortnite, Roblox Virtual Currency For Tax Just Got Complicated

With the April 15 tax deadline approaching for Americans, some might be wondering about what they do and do not need to disclose on their Form 1040 as it relates to gaming. The situation just got a little more complicated due to a change by the IRS.

The IRS recently removed wording from its website that said Americans needed to disclose whether or not they received, sold, exchanged, or acquired a financial interest in Fortnite or Roblox virtual currency during the 2019 tax year. Millions of Fortnite and Roblox players would presumably be impacted, as they would need to disclose this as taxable income.

The wording was discovered by Coin Center director Jerry Brito. The IRS removed the language after Bloomberg Tax followed up with the government group, though it has yet to comment officially on the matter.

Here’s Robert Pattinson In The Batman Suit

For all we know about Matt Reeves’s upcoming DC film, The Batman, there’s still a ton of mystery surrounding it. Yes, Robert Pattinson will be playing Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz will be Selina Kyle, Collin Farrell will play The Penguin–but beyond the star-studded cast, the details have been kept extremely vague. The slow drip of information continues to trickle in and the latest is test footage for the movie. Reeves took to Twitter to share the video, giving us our first look at Pattinson in full costume, and our first glimpse at what we can expect from the brand new Bat Suit.

The Batman is expected to take a more detective-focused look into the world of the Dark Knight, pitting Bruce Wayne against not only The Penguin and Catwoman, but The Riddler (Paul Dano) tool. Joining Dano, Farrell, Pattinson, and Kravitz will be Andy Serkis as Batman’s faithful butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Westworld actor Jeffery Wright has also been in talks to take the role of Commissioner Gordon.

We can’t be sure where or how The Batman will connect to the rest of the DCEU, or if it will remain a completely disconnected alternate universe similar to Joker–but one thing is definitely certain: The new costume looks absolutely incredible. The Bat logo on the chest seems to be made of fragmented metal, the shoulders look heavily armored, and the cowl looks like it may have already seen some battle damage, which could indicate that we’ll be joining the Caped Crusader well into his superhero journey, rather than at the very start.

Listen To Billie Eilish’s Excellent No Time To Die Song And Try To Decipher The Lyrics

Following a brief teaser, Billie Eilish has released her full No Time To Die song, and it’s great. Like the movie, the song is called “No Time To Die” and it’s a moody, atmospheric track that sees the singer exploring her range. Have a listen in the Spotify embed below.

The lyrics are striking as well, and fans may wonder if they contain clues about the story in No Time To Die. In the first verse, Eilish sings, “I should have known / I’d leave alone / Just goes to show / That the blood you bleed / Is just the blood you owe.”

The lyrics may also reference 007’s relationship with the character Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux). The first verse goes on, “We were a pair / But I saw you there / Too much to bear / You were my life, but life is far away from fair / Was I stupid to love you? / Was I reckless to help?/ Was it obvious to everybody else?”
