Mario Kart-Inspired Game With Nickelodeon Characters Announced

Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a new racing game that stars the characters from your favorite Nickelodeon series. The game is published by GameMill Entertainment, the same folks behind Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers, and developed by Bamtang.

SpongeBob SquarePants‘ SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello; Hey Arnold‘s Arnold and Helga; and Rugrats‘ Angelica, Tommy, and Reptar have already been confirmed for the game. Nickelodeon Kart Racers features characters from 12 iconic shows, and includes 24 race tracks inspired by Bikini Bottom, The New York City sewers, Tommy Pickle’s house, Arnold’s school, and more Nickelodeon locations.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers has both team-based co-op, where partners can pull off devastating fused attacks, and local free-for-all multiplayer. Like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the karts are completely customizable and an assortment of power-ups on the tracks allow characters to perform special attacks.

Certain sections of each track are also covered in slime. When driving over slime, your kart will transform into a jet-ski and effortlessly glide across the track.

So far, only four of the 12 shows that are included in the game have been revealed. What other series do you think will show up in Nickelodeon Kart Races? There are quite a few possibilities, including The Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Leave your guesses in the comment section.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers releases for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on October 23.

Ryan Reynolds Is Reimagining Home Alone As A Stoner Movie

If you’ve ever wondered what a home alone movie would look like if it was geared towards adults, wonder no more. Deadline reports that Ryan Reynolds is making an R-rated version of Home Alone called Stoned Alone with Fox.

Reynolds will be producing the movie, which will reportedly follow a 20-something stoner, who misses a flight to a ski trip, and comes home to light up. After getting sufficiently baked, he gets paranoid and thinks that he hears someone breaking into his house. It turns out, someone is, and the stoner must defend his home from the intruders while high as a kite.

No casting choices have been announced, but we do know that Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider (The Package) wrote the script. Augustine Frizzell, an emerging voice in comedy with a Sundance feature coming out soon, will direct.

The original Home Alone was a smash hit from 1990 that inspired sequels and launched MaCaulay Culkin into stardom. We’re hoping that the themes from the original, combined with the comedy skills of Ryan Reynolds and the whole production team will make for a funny new take on the classic franchise.

Earlier this month, Stankey said HBO would have to “alter and change direction a little bit” following Time Warner and AT&T’s recent $85.4 billion merger. However, it seems this might no longer be the case as Bloys confirmed HBO will continue to deliver the same type of quality programming it’s known for.

“There are no plans to dilute the HBO brand in favor of programming,” Bloys said during the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “AT&T has been very complimentary of what we do.”
