Paladins Announced for Nintendo Switch, Release Date Revealed
Hi-Rez Studios has announced that its hit hero shooter, Paladins, is making its way to Nintendo Switch next week. Paladins will see its worldwide digital release on the Nintendo Switch on June 12, and features crossplay with the Xbox One version of the game. Pre-orders are now available on the Nintendo Switch’s, eShop.
The Nintendo Switch version of Paladins will run at 60 frames-per-second and is built from the ground up on a custom in-house port of Unreal Engine 3. Hi-Rez Studios has stated that the Switch version will offer the full Paladins experience while playing both docked and undocked mode.
Players will be able to gain access to the game by purchasing the Paladins Founder’s Pack on the Nintendo Switch’s eShop for $29.99. The Paladins Founder’s Pack includes all 36 Champions currently available in the game, as well as all future Champions and numerous Founder Exclusive cosmetic items. Hi-Rez Studios has also stated that it intends to offer a free-to-play version of Paladins on Nintendo Switch later this summer, and the recently announced Rise of Furia event will arrive later this month.
Fight Robots in Generation Zero From Avalanche Studios
Set in 1980s Sweden, Generation Zero sees players taking on hostile robots in an open world.
After Avalanche Studios teased the game yesterday, the company behind Just Cause revealed today that Generation Zero is planned for release in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The self-published game allows for people to play alone or squad up with up to three friends for co-op.
Generation Zero will also offer a day/night cycle with weather conditions. Avalanche is utilizing the Apex engine for the game and promising that players can “lure, cripple, or destroy” the robot enemies. There seems to be some sort of loot mechanic in the game as well.
Jeremy Renner Filmed Avengers 4 With Broken Bones in Both Arms
Jeremy Renner has revealed that he went to work on Avengers 4 with broken bones in both arms after an accident on the set of Tag.
Renner shared his injuries on Instagram when he sustained them while filming the upcoming action-comedy Tag last summer. Renner’s co-star, Jon Hamm, appeared on The Ellen Show last week, telling her that Renner injured himself three days into production and had to wear green screen casts so that they could be removed in post.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the accident happened during a stunt that involved the actor having to climb a stack of 20 to 30 chairs in a chase sequence. Renner explained that the rigging broke, saying, “I broke along with it and fell on the ground and broke my arms.

The Totality
The recent Dark Nights: Metal crossover ended with the Source Wall surrounding the DC Universe being breached and energy from the unknown realms beyond bursting through. That plot point is still very much at the forefront of this new series. Issue #1 opens with the Totality, a comet-like burst of energy from deep inside the Source, rocketing across the universe and being witnessed across multiple points in the DC timeline. The opening page showcases the futuristic Justice League of DC One Million, The Monitor from Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kamandi and Dr. Canus and a group of immortals (including Highfather, Hera, Ganthet and Phantom Stranger) all watching the Totality’s journey.

Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot Says the Next Console Generation Will Be the Last
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot still thinks that the next gen of consoles will be the last, and that streaming is the future of video games.
Guillemot says that the ability to stream AAA games has changed the industry, and will continue to do so, eliminating the need for expensive hardware in the home, although Xbox boss Phil Spencer, and NIntendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé don’t quite see that happening just yet.
“I think we will see another generation, but there is a good chance that step-by-step we will see less and less hardware,” Guillemot told Variety. “With time, I think streaming will become more accessible to many players and make it not necessary to have big hardware at home.

DC Entertainment Boss Diane Nelson Leaves Warner Bros
DC Entertainment president, Diane Nelson, has left Warner Bros. after 22 years with the company.
Since taking over as president in 2009, Nelson managed the hugely successful Harry Potter franchise, as well as bringing the publisher’s stable of comic book heroes to TV and film, including DC Entertainment properties like Arrow, Supergirl, Gotham, and Black Lightning, as well as a slew of DC films that were initially announced in 2014, including Wonder Woman, The LEGO Batman Movie, and 2019’s Shazam!
During her time at the company, she not only oversaw the growth of DC films and TV shows, but also video games, like Injustice 2, Batman: The Telltale Series, and the Batman: Arkham games.
