The LEGO Ideas Voltron set will be available on August 1 for $180 USD.
The 2,321-piece set, which the company touts as the “biggest buildable LEGO mech ever,” includes the black, blue, yellow, red, and green lions that combine to form Voltron, as well as an attachable sword and shield. When assembled, Voltron stands at 15 inches tall, with an 11-inch sword.
“Limited quantities” of the Voltron set will be available in late July at San Diego Comic-Con, according to LEGO, while LEGO VIP Early Access members can order the set on July 23.
Inspired by the 1980s animated series Voltron: Defender of the Universe, this set comes from LEGO’s Ideas series, which is comprised of user-created set concepts voted on by the community. Ideas that garner 10,000 supporters move on to the reviewal process. If approved by LEGO’s review board, the set then goes into production and is sold worldwide.
