Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Bringing Back Nuketown With A Twist

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch held a multiplayer livestream today during which the studio showed off new footage and made some announcements. We learned that Treyarch is bringing back classic Black Ops maps Jungle, Slums, Summit, and Firing Range for Black Ops 4. These maps have been “rebuilt from the base level,” according to Treyarch.

Additionally, and perhaps more excitingly, Treyarch also confirmed that the popular Nuketown map from the original Black Ops will be in Black Ops 4–but not right away. The map, which has been reimagined with a different twist, will launch in November, free for all players.

Nuketown was featured in Black Ops II and Black Ops III as well, each time featuring a different look and vibe than the original. It appears Treyarch will be adjusting the map again for Black Ops 4, but we don’t know what that will look like as of yet.

According to CharlieIntel, the three previously announced Black Ops 4 maps–Contraband, Seaside, and Payload–will be playable at E3 2018. A new one that was announced today, Frequency, will be playable as well. For more on Black Ops 4 multiplayer, check out the gameplay video embedded above.

Black Ops 4 launches on October 12, which is a few weeks earlier than usual for the Call of Duty franchise. The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and we are expecting to see and learn a lot more about the shooter at E3 2018 next week.

Hitman 2 Release Date / US Pre-Order Guide

It’s official: Hitman 2 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, 2018. Developed by IO Interactive and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Hitman 2 follows the further bloody adventures of everyone’s favorite bald, barcoded assassin, Agent 47.

This time around, the game will not be episodic like the previous entry. Instead, the full game will be available at launch, though two additional locations will be added as post-launch DLC. As before, the globetrotting murderer will land in exciting locations, including a rainforest and a Miami motorsport track during a big race. Your job will be to take out your targets in any way you see fit.

If you’re ready to secure yourself a copy of Hitman 2, you’ll probably want to know what comes in the various editions, where you can buy it, and how much it costs. Read on for all the information you need to pre-order Hitman 2.

Every IGN Hitman Review

Agent 47 returns this November 13 for Hitman 2! No, not Hitman 2: Silent Assassin – the other Hitman 2. The one that’s actually Hitman 7, if you count all the episodes of the previous game as one and not counting Hitman Go. (It’s also not the second Hitman movie, Hitman: Agent 47.)

Confused yet? LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU! Assassins often attempt to confuse their prey to make them drop their guard and become easy targets. So when you really think about it, flipping through this slideshow of every IGN Hitman review is the only hope you have of warding off being murdered with a Dustbuster or something. It spans from 2000’s Hitman: Codename 47 to 2016’s Hitman Episode 6: Hokkaido, and contains the impressions of every reviewer when they were fresh off the kill in each game.

Psychonauts Director Tim Schafer Reflects on the 2005 Classic – IGN Expert Mode

You might know Psychonauts as the “psychic adventure from the mind of Tim Schafer”, but it was also the game that shaped Double Fine Productions as a studio. The part-platforming, part-adventure game started out as an obscure concept in the 90s, became a huge critical success on launch, then, slowly, evolved into the beloved cult classic it is today, with a sequel set for 2019.

In the latest episode of IGN’s Expert Mode, we sat down with Tim Schafer himself to talk all about the challenge of originality in modern game development, the importance of wish fulfillment for players, and unique strategies for coming up with consistent characters. Watch it below:

The Internet Is Pretty Sure It’s Fixed Star Wars: The Last Jedi

File this one into your “the Internet wins again” folder. Twitter user Josh Scully posted a hilarious re-edit of Star Wars: The Last Jedi that offers a suggestion for an abridged — and, honestly, infinitely epic — twist on Episode VIII.

Josh mashed up two key scenes from the film — when Leia uses her Force powers in space to travel back to the Resistance ship, and when Holdo jumps to light speed to destroy the First Order fleet — into what he suggests is “The Last Jedi fixed.” You can watch the scene below, which is hosted in IGN’s player with permission from the original owner.

This video accrued more than 780,000 views on Josh’s Twitter at publish time, so it seems like a lot of people on the web agree with Josh’s humorous edit. And yes, he is aware that this version means we would lose lot of the film.

E3 2018: Watch Bethesda’s Press Conference Right Here This Sunday

We’re fast approaching E3 2018, and that means the coming days will be filled with showcases from the biggest publishers and platform holders. Bethesda’s showcase will take place on Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET. You can watch it right here from the comfort of GameSpot, since we’ll be hosting all the big briefings through June 12. We’ll update this post with the livestream as we approach the event. If you can’t watch the stream, you can always follow along with our liveblog.

We know that Rage 2 and Fallout 76 will be big parts of Bethesda’s showcase this year. Both were announced just weeks before E3. We’ve only seen brief teasers of each, so the studio still has a lot more ground to cover. Bethesda has also promised its biggest showcase ever, so we can probably expect more surprises as well.

The press conferences will kick off on Saturday, June 9 with EA. Microsoft joins Bethesda on Sunday, and then Ubisoft and Sony will follow on Monday, and then Nintendo on Tuesday. You can see the full schedule to plan your watching accordingly.

Black Ops 4 Announces New Multiplayer Map Details

Treyarch detailed maps coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on a live-stream hosted by Director of Communications, John Rafacz and featuring Co-Studio Head, Dan Bunting and Studio Design Director, David Vonderhaar.

While there were unfortunately no details about the battle royale mode Blackout’s map, Treyarch did confirm five of the maps coming to Black Ops 4 will be fan-favorite locations making a comeback. All maps will be completely remastered with new visuals and adaptations to the new gameplay.

Jungle is an original from Black Ops 1, Slums returns from Black Ops 2, and Summit comes back from Black Ops 1, as does Firing Range. Last but not least, Nuketown, a longtime favorite that has appeared in every Black Ops game, will also be coming to Black Ops 4.
