The basics of creating a good-sounding speaker usually drive design choices, which have led to a lot of wooden black boxes on desks. But sometimes a bold statement needs to be made in the design department to make a strong impression. Enter the Razer Nommo Chroma gaming speakers (See it on Amazon); the middle child in Razer’s three-product speaker lineup. There’s also a non-Chroma version (which means there’s no RGB lighting), and a Pro model that features a 2.1 design with a subwoofer and two drivers per speaker.

E3 2018: All The Companies Attending The Show

We’re inching ever closer to E3 2018, and this year’s show promises to be one of the biggest in the expo’s 22-year history. Nearly 200 hundred companies will have a presence on the show floor, from big-name developers to hardware manufactures and gaming outlets, and there will undoubtedly be many exciting announcements emanating from the LA Convention Center once the show begins.

While E3 proper doesn’t kick off until Tuesday, June 12, a number of developers and publishers will host their own press conferences in the days leading up to the expo. Many have already outlined some of the games they intend to show off during their own presentations; Ubisoft, for instance, has already confirmed it will feature The Division 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2, among other titles, while Sony will focus primarily on a handful of major PS4 exclusives with its conference, including the enigmatic Death Stranding and Insomniac’s Spider-Man.

Other publishers have been keeping a tight lid on what they have in store for this year’s E3. Outside of Super Smash Bros. for Switch, Nintendo has been quiet about what games it plans to show off during its online presentation. Likewise, Bethesda has only confirmed two games, Rage 2 and Fallout 76, despite teasing that this year’s conference will be its longest one yet. Assuming nothing else inadvertently leaks ahead of the show, it appears that there will be many exciting announcements to look forward to at E3.

The festivities begin with the EA Play event on Saturday, June 9, and continue until E3 closes on June 14. In the meantime, you can see a list of all the companies attending this year’s E3 below. You can also find the press conference schedule, along with our full coverage of the expo, on our E3 2018 hub.

What the Life Cycles of Previous PlayStations Say About the PlayStation 5

Buy a hot new game system, and you’ll see an even better model the next day. That’s the stuff of lazy sitcom jokes, yet there’s an undeniable rhythm to the seemingly brief lives of game consoles. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO John Kodera recently mentioned that the PlayStation 4 is in its “final life cycle,” prompting many to point out that the system isn’t even five years old.

We may complain, but it’s all part of the process. Sony follows the time-honored practice of piping up about a new system just as the current one hits its stride and the competition gets fierce. Yet if there’s a common thread in the PlayStation family, it’s one of dignified exits for old systems and overhyped entrances for the newcomers. Here’s what the life cycles of the previous four PlayStations possible tell us about the PlayStation 5.

Father Of Child Rescued In Paris Was Out Playing Pokemon Go

The father of the boy who was dramatically rescued from a Paris balcony was apparently distracted by Pokemon Go at the time. CNN reports that according to French prosecutor Francois Molins, the father had gone out shopping and left the child at home alone. The mother is currently living elsewhere. But the shopping trip took longer than anticipated because the dad decided to play some Pokemon Go on his way back.

The “Spider-Man” rescue incident grew international attention due to a viral video, in which a Malian migrant named Mamoudou Gassama climbed four stories of an apartment building to save the child dangling from a balcony. The father now faces up to two years in prison for abandoning his parental responsibilities, and will be sentenced in September. The child had been placed in temporary care while the father was in custody, but they’ve now been reunited. French president Emmanuel Macron presented Gassama with a gold medal for courage. He’s also been offered French citizenship and a job with the Paris fire brigade.

Last night Nintendo announced its new and upcoming plans for the Pokemon franchise, including the announcement and sudden release of Pokemon Quest and two more games coming in November. Those two, Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, share some similarities with Pokemon Go.
