Bethesda Teasing Fallout Announcement; Livestream Happening Now

With E3 just around the corner, Bethesda is currently teasing something Fallout related. The company first tweeted a gif of a TV test card displaying words long associated with the Fallout series–“Please stand by”–and now it is livestreaming a similar picture on its Twitch channel.

The stream shows a television showing the same test card as was seen in the tweet, with a figure of Vault Boy standing in the foreground. Additionally, a man walked on set drinking an unidentified beverage, before walking off. Your guess is as good as ours. Take a look at the stream below.

It’s not yet clear exactly what the company is teasing, nor when we will find out more. Bethesda’s E3 2018 press conference is set for Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET (2:30 AM BST / 11:30 AM AET on June 11), so we should find out more then at the very latest. For more, check out the full E3 2018 press conference schedule.

The most recent game in the post-apocalyptic series is 2015’s Fallout 4, which later came to VR as an HTC Vive exclusive in 2017. October 2018 also marks the 10-year anniversary of Fallout 3‘s original launch. What do you think Bethesda is teasing, and where would you like to see the series go next? Let us know in the comments below.

Fortnite Week 5 Challenges Delayed, Now Coming Thursday

Fortnite players will have to wait a little longer than usual for the next set of weekly challenges to complete. Rather than rolling out the new challenges on Tuesday, as it typically has for the past several weeks, developer Epic announced on Twitter that the rest of Season 4’s weekly challenges will instead arrive every Thursday, as they previously used to.

The new set of challenges are now slated to go live across all platforms–PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS–on May 31 at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 8 AM GMT. Epic says the delay isn’t due to any technical issues, but rather is an “intended change” to the weekly challenge schedule.

“Starting this week with the v4.3 update we will be updating the Weekly Challenges on every Thursday rather than with the update for the remainder of Season 4,” Epic explained on Reddit. “Our goal is to reduce the risk of new weekly challenges being put in a bad state if the weekly rollover is delayed.”

The aforementioned 4.3 update likewise still isn’t available, but Epic has already detailed some of the quality-of-life improvements it will introduce to Fortnite: Battle Royale, one of which is a challenge progress notification system. Once implemented, players will see messages pop up during matches as they complete objectives, making it much easier to know where they stand toward finishing a given challenge.

Other new features on the way soon to Fortnite is a limited-time Playground mode, which features friendly fire and respawns. A new shopping cart vehicle also recently appeared in the game’s New Updates feed. Epic didn’t reveal any further details about the shopping cart or when it will arrive in the game; its accompanying description simply says, “Roll into battle alone or with a buddy.”

Star Citizen Now Has a $27,000 DLC Pack

You’ll have to spend $1000 just to view the DLC’s contents. But you can check out everything’s that included in The Legatus Pack via this forum post. Some of the ships featured are Javelin, Avenger Stalker, Avenger Titan, F7C Hornet Wildfire, Eclipse, Gladius, and Aegis Hammerhead.

Free Xbox One Games With Gold For June Confirmed

It looks like June 2018’s free Games With Gold lineup has been revealed, at least for one part of the world. A post on the German version of the Xbox Wire reveals that Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, Smite Gold Bundle, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Lego Indiana Jones 2: The New Adventures will be free at different points in the month. [Update: Microsoft has confirmed June’s Games With Gold lineup consists of the aforementioned games.]

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia is part of the Chronicles trilogy of 2.5D side-scrolling platformers; it is free on Xbox One June 1-30. The other free Xbox One game is the Smite Gold Bundle, which packs in extra content for the free game such as 20 more gods and other items such as skins; it will be free on Xbox One June 16-July 15.

The free Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles for June are Sega’s pretty great arcade racing game Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (June 1-15) and the delightful adventure game Lego Indiana Jones 2: The New Adventures (June 16-30). Both games play on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.

Given that there are only a few days left in May, we expect Microsoft to make a global Games With Gold announcement very soon. Keep checking back for more.

Whatever the case, now is a good time to grab the remaining free Games With Gold titles from May, which include Super Mega Baseball 2 and Vanquish. One of May’s games, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, will remain free on Xbox One through June 15.

Mega Man 11 Release Date Revealed

Capcom has announced Mega Man 11 will be released this Fall on October 2nd.

Announced late last year, Mega Man 11 plays just like the older games — eight robot masters that can be tackled in any order, then on to Dr. Wily’s castle — but he sports a new cartoonish anime look.
