Here’s How Call Of Duty WW2 Rewards You For Watching Others Open Loot Boxes

Call of Duty: WWII takes the top prize for strangest loot box opening animation: the loot boxes literally fall out of the sky and slam down in front of you, opening up to show you what you’ve won. But what’s possibly even weirder is that you get rewarded for watching other players open loot boxes.

One of the game’s Daily Orders tasks you with observing as three other players call in their loot drops from the heavens, and it’ll reward you with Social Score. The higher your score, the more likely you are to score higher-level drops in loot boxes. Check it out in-game, courtesy of GameSpot’s own Ed Tran:

All of this takes place in Call of Duty: WWII’s new social space, Headquarters. Along with loot drops, Headquarters also gives you access to 1v1 modes, a firing range, some objects to kick around, and dynamic events such as air raids.

Call of Duty: WWII launches on November 3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Ahead of its release, you can check out an early look at a Domination match played in hardcore mode.

Medical Emergency Prompts Westworld Season 2 Filming Interruption

Production on Westworld Season 2 has been interrupted due to a “medical emergency” involving one of the stars. HBO confirmed this in a statement today; the statement does not mention the name of the actor, only saying it’s someone who has a recurring role and that the incident happened off-set. The statement also confirms that only one of Westworld Season 2’s filming units is affected, so production is not shutting down entirely.

“Due to a medical emergency involving a performer in a recurring role on season 2 of Westworld, filming on one of the two units has been temporarily suspended,” HBO said in a statement to Deadline. “The cast member was not on set when this occurred, and out of respect for the performer’s privacy, we have no additional details to share, other than that everyone at Westworld sincerely hopes for a quick recovery.”

Westworld Season 2 is expected to premiere in 2018, though HBO has made no official announcements. It’s unclear if this production interruption will affect the air date.

The first season premiered in 2016 to critical acclaim and strong viewership numbers. The drama stars Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, and Ed Harris.

The first trailer for Westworld Season 2 premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The producers have said Season 2 is “ambitious” and has higher stakes than the first.

Fishburne told Collider about the secret project which he pitched to Marvel before being cast as Bill Foster in the Ant-Man sequel.

“I’ve got Black-ish going on, I’m developing something else for Marvel that I can’t talk about. It’s gonna be really cool. It’s gonna change the world, we hope

. I went to Marvel and pitched them something that really couldn’t work out—there was a lot of legal red tape that just

something they couldn’t work out. But then they came back with the offer for Ant-Man and The Wasp and then they said, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ and I went ‘Oh yeah that, yes!’ so…”

Sony Exec Defends That Very Violent The Last Of Us 2 Trailer

The newest trailer for The Last of Us Part II that aired during Sony’s briefing at Paris Games Week generated a lot of discussion over its level of violence. We saw an arm broken with a hammer. We saw people hanged. We saw an arrow through the face. It was unquestionably violent. Now, PlayStation executive Jim Ryan has responded to criticisms, saying in a new interview with The Telegraph that The Last of Us Part II “obviously is a game made by adults to be played by adults.”

“I should never prejudge this but it will probably be rated 18, I think it’s fair to say,” Ryan explained. “And there’s that market for those people who like that sort of game. Adults who like that sort of game. And I think we cater for that…”

Ryan went on to say that Sony’s role as a platform-holder is to give developers a platform to showcase their games–whatever they might be. Sony does have a job to do what it can to ensure content is age-appropriate, he acknowledged. “I thought The Last of Us Part II was a great way to end the show and I feel very good about it,” he said.

We don’t know a huge amount about The Last of Us Part II so far, though developer Naughty Dog has already confirmed that Ellie, not Joel, is the primary playable character. We also know that the first game’s director, Bruce Straley, is not returning to direct Part II. Aside from those details and the new trailer, all we’ve seen so far is the reveal trailer from PSX 2017.

Gotham: “A Day in the Narrows” Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

Heh. Hi, Headhunter.

Aaaand bye, Headhunter.

The GCPD were the absolute worst they’ve ever been this week on “A Day in the Narrows” while they openly beat citizens to a pulp looking for a witness to Pyg’s cop kidnappings. It was full-tilt lunacy from the worst police department on TV, on a show that’s now retro-acknowledged its flaws by openly owning the fact that its cops are so terrible.

I can’t really decide here if things, basically, needed to get this out of hand in order for real change to occur – since, by the end, the cops (we assume all of them) sided with Gordon over Penguin – but what I do know is you can’t get away with having stupid things happen on a show just because you have other characters talk about how stupid they are. Like the delivery guys who went into the precinct with 44 blood-soaked boxes of mystery meat. Having Jim call out how dumb they were doesn’t make up for…how dumb they were.
