Dragon Age Creative Director Mike Laidlaw Leaves BioWare

Veteran BioWare game designer and Senior Game Director Mike Laidlaw left his position with the company.

Laidlaw made the public announcement on his personal Twitter account, saying “it’s time for me to move on.” Laidlaw has been with the company for 14 years, working on huge BioWare games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

“It’s been an honor to be a part of the Dragon Age team,” he said in his statement. No immediate future plans were laid out beyond “reconnecting with all the amazing games and worlds” video gaming has to offer.

In June, another force behind the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises, Aaryn Flynn, left BioWare after 17 years. The project director on the original Mass Effect, Casey Hudson, took over as BioWare’s new general manager.
